It was a warm summer evening and I was in the backyard reading. He had the look of “ what are we going yo do now?” Pretty sure he had the idea we might walk to the ice cream shop. He’s more than helpful to clean up what’s left in the ice cream cup.

Tanner the rescued Pit Bull and me on a early morning walk. Tanner is small for a pitty, but looks big as a shadow. I look like I have peanut head😂
This is just me messing around with projectors. I'm still very new to second life photography, I spent over a decade taking snapshots but since my computer could only go so far, I never took it very seriously. So far all my lights have been boxes I made in game and added a light color to. So I finally bought myself some projector lights to play with and thought I'd release Tanner here from his position chained up on the wall to test one out!
I think I'm going to do a series of just headshots with projectors just for a short while, because why not? It's my photography right? What's the point if I'm not doing what I want with it.
So we start here with Tanner, who has no personality what-so-ever since he's never officially debuted in any stories me and my BFF have written. Looks like a sweet, dumb guy, but alas I have no history to give you on this dude. I just think he's hot.
This picture of our grandson Tanner was sent to my mother in law by Tanner's mother just recently. This is the first picture I have seen of him since I last saw him almost 2 years ago.. He has grown to be such a beautiful little boy.....
Thought it was time that I post another picture of our grandson Tanner, for those of you who haven't seen this precious boy yet.
He's forever in our thoughts. :)
My daughter Bethany is holding him. It was a very special moment in time. :)
The rushing waters of Tanner Creek, flowing through lush temperate rainforest in the Columbia River Gorge earlier this summer. I'm so glad I got a chance to hike here one last time, as this is one of the sections that was hit hardest by the subsequent Eagle Creek Fire, and it may be quite a while before it looks anything like this again. Which is particularly heartbreaking for those of us who have been hiking here all of our lives, and for whom the Gorge is more than just a beautiful place to visit, but also the place we call home.
My grandson Tanner, is one of the best gifts that Heavenly Father could have ever given us. This image was taken on Christmas day 2006.
Went back to a new fav of mine today. The 2.5 hour drive was well worth it. It was cloudy and there was little if any wind.
The original C.R. Tanner & Sons Farmers Service Center in Madison, Virginia. It was closed the day I snapped this shot, but it looks like it might be an antique store now..
Tanner is one of two new fireboats operated by the London Fire Brigade.
It's named after Auxiliary Fire Woman Gillian Tanner, for her heroism during World War 2. The other vessel, Errington, is named after Auxiliary Fire Man Harry Errington, GC, for the same reason. Both fire fighters were volunteers.
They may be the fastest vessels on the River Thames: their published 'stats' indicate they can move faster than the navy's fastest frigate, HMS Sutherland.
The two vessels entered service in 2023. Tanner proceeded to the end of Gravesend Reach (a couple of mile down river) then returned. I'm assuming this was a training exercise as the vessel "officially" operates only as far down river as Dartford (not actually 'on' the Thames and nine miles west of Gravesend...)

...Tanner is one of our youngest male kitties with a tan-orange & while coat. He and his brother are good, fearless cats. 8 months old. Yes... I'm still here. Reading and researching many books lately.

Took Tanner on a walk on a very windy day and saw our long shadows. Just got a quick snap with the iPhone. Tanner looks huge in this photo, but he is a pretty small Pit Bull.
As windy as it was the last time I went to Ponce Inlet for a shoot, I don't see why anyone would want to STAY on the beach being pelted by the sand, but some folks are hard core tanners! Only the most devoted sunbathers and joggers were out that day. I didn't even see other photographers, and we're usually the most daring, but it's probably because getting good shots under the windy conditions can be a challenge.
This one was certainly a challenge for me. The quality just wasn't there. I captured this before the sun really re-emerged, and and it was still rather gloomy and misty on the south end of the beach. I had to use a lot of techniques to make anything of it, such as sharpening tools after I used noise reduction to remove the noise that the HDR filter brought up! the shot would have looked pretty flat without it, and as little dimension as there was to the clouds, less was seen before I used the filter. It's always a catch-22, it seems.
Every morning, when the tanneries are at their most active, cascades of water pour through holes that were once the windows of houses, hundreds of skins lie spread out on the rooftops to dry, while amid the vats of dye and pigeon dung (the white vats), an unbelievably Gothic fantasy is enacted as tanners treat the hides
