In subtropicalheat they don't sit still! I was lucky to catch this flying overhead at Sheding Park in the far south of Taiwan. Hope your Wednesday floated past!
I sat on the narrow and shaded dry streambed that day, and there are many Arhopala japonica flying by from upstream, one by one. Some of them stopped in front of me and basked. However, they are all so sensitive, and I cound not approach nearer.
Arhopala japonica is a common oakblue in Taiwan. This is a female.
