-->> ..Taco Johns stores were more prolifant in the 1980s in Southern Colorado ..secret chemicals in the addictive Taco Burgers kept a young Snapper goin' there on odd occasions.
In the mid-90s the stores seemed to go down hill.. and left the area ..just like the dinosaurs. But in the past few years ..the chain has made a return to the area..particularly the Army base.
I remember this box fairly clearly .. cuz they used it for a long time. Archeologists and Scientology suggest that a giant outbreak of Ecoli at "Taco John Stones" in 00000000.1 B.c. is what really killed all the dinosaurs. That and transfats from Paleo-potato olés!!
These are the same health-induced dinosaurs people put in their vehicles to this very day !! Err.. yeh !!
(( I'm kidding ..i'm kidding, i ♥ T.J.'s ))

-->> .. this box represents fond memories. It became more an odd refuge my folks would take me on rare and odd occasions when i had real troubles in school. Most my memories from the 80s are not good ones. But when my mum or pop took me in to Juan's little restaurant for one of the TacoBurgers ..those are nice thoughts.
The little 'Juan' there looks alot different now-days .. and can only be found on fossils like this Kids Meal box anymore.

Large. I didn't know until yesterday that Jimboy's Tacos was a small regional chain that started in Sacramento in 1959. I immediately marched off (literally, my car was in the shop) to the nearest Jimboy's to get a photo of some food. When I saw the taco burger on the menu, I knew that had to be the subject of my photo.
Unfortunately, you can't really tell it's a burger--but on the bottom a little to the right you can seem some pickles underneath the shredded lettuce. I threw some onions and Jimboy's sauce on the fries from the salsa bar.
Honestly, it was pretty good.
The Tacoburger at Jimboy's Tacos. A hamburger with all the fixings, inside a freshly fried corn tortilla, rather than a bun.
...to see if the food was as bad as I suspected based solely on the decor and the name of the owner and the menu....
Homemade Tacoburger, it is amazing!
500g meat
2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons of Tacosauce
Half a bag of tacomix
Reason #11, the best darned Mexican fast food in the world. Tom and I have flown to NO just to get a tacoburger. Seriously.
