Kippis by Maija Louekari / Marimekko

"The starting point for Maija Louekari’s Kippis design was an idea to pattern a porcelain mug with crystal glasses and so make it fine for serving celebratory drinks. Companions to the mug are a porcelain plate resembling a glass plate, and a bowl decorated with dessert glassware. Paper napkins, tea towels and plywood trays with a tableware motif are also included in this series."

The style and coloring of the pattern reminds me of some old children's book illustrations that I have faint but fond memories of.

Kippis! = Cheers!

Tiikerin päiväuni = Tiger's Daydream (the tea I was having).

"A shot glass or mug" Fun Scavenger Hunt #68

Reminiscent of the coliseums of old this handsome and intricately stair-stepped serving piece will insure a lovely presentation. It’s been finely crafted in Vermont by the J. K. Adams Company from North American Cherry that has been grown with care. This beautiful tray is 1” deep and 12” square. Wash it with warm soapy water and dry promptly.*

We have been informed by staff Astro-squirrels that fruit is too perishable to store in the Cargo Hold and might attract insect pests—and anything with nuts is better than fruit anyways. So instead of a tray of funky bananas and grapes that are well on their way to becoming raisins, your beautiful cherry tray will come with 41 ½ ounces (326 grams) of Snickers® minis. Packed with peanuts, Snickers really satisfies.® Also contains milk chocolate, corn syrup, sugar, milkfat, skim milk partially hydrogenated soybean oil, lactose, salt, egg white, and possibly a bit of almonds.**

* Do not soak, or put it in the dishwasher or the microwave. It is not designed to hold liquids. Cherry can be sensitive to direct sunlight. Protecting the piece from strong ultraviolet rays will reduce the risk of a color change.

** Do not wash Snickers® with warm soapy water. Do not soak, or put it in the dishwasher or the microwave. Snickers® can be sensitive to direct sunlight. Protecting them from strong heat sources will reduce the risk of a messy meltdown.

First time I've seen this style. It's like an overgrown tea cup! It says 723 on it.
