"Tabletop surfing using some paper rollers."
An rare opportunity to clear an abstract random idea off the whiteboard list having only just put it up there.
(Lego figure came in the post today funded by the 'prop budget')
A simple setup, a white sugar bowl, white background, overhead diffused LED lighting with side reflectors to bounce the light into the shadows.

Picked this morning.
I put this on a tabletop and used a fluorescent studio light from the side and a black background behind it. I took three manual exposures, with only the focus changing in each one, and then combined them in Photoshop CS4. I've seen this technique referred to as "focus stacking". It certainly provides more depth of field than the lens is capable of in a single shot.

Scenes from a hour-long stroll down Main Street in Daytona Beach during Bike Week 2010, FRiday, Mar. 5.
Quiet MLK day afternoon. Reilly and Kaleb are here, and the kids are bored, so Seamus asked if we could play Robo Rally. I took the opportunity to get a picture of him while he was away from the computer.
The unexpected is always the best. I had spent the afternoon with a friend shooting her beautiful garden flowers and some portraits. I was ready to leave in order to beat a predicted downpour, and then I saw these flowers on her table. Couldn't pass on such a pretty bouquet. The shot came out nicely silouetted, but I brought it into its full color with a little bit of this and a little of that in PSE.
