Patience rewarded!
At the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary they tell people to stand or sit still and look and listen and they will see birds, but many people pass through talking loudly and walking fast. Seconds before I took these shots I had been berated by a tourist sho said it was a waste of time because they saw no birds. I sat in some path-side tussock right where they has not seen any birds and watched the flax flowers in the sun opposite me. Sure enough, this tui soon came and as it flitted from flower to flower, gave me some priceless shots!

This cheeky Tui landed quite close to me when I was photographing other birds. I got a bit of a telling off although it was not in breeding season so I doubt hit had anything do with a nest. Beautiful birds!
