Kingston Lacy (National Trust)
Managed to fit in a visit to Kingston Lacy before the rain arrived.
22nd April 2024.
On this day........
1838 - The British Packet Steamer 'Sirius' made the first transatlantic crossing by steam power, reaching New York from Cork in 18days and 10 hours.
1870 - Vladimir Lenin, prime minister of Soviet Union was born.
1969 - Robin Knox-Johnston won the race for non-stop single handed circumnavigation of the globe.
1994 - Former U.S. president Richard M. Nixon died.
The Wellcome Trust is an independent global charitable foundation dedicated to improving health through science, research and engagement with society.
Situated along the Euston Road, this building certainly dominates the Euston area...and looks beautiful at night.

My Brother in Law has some of the baddest tattoos I've seen. Each tattoo has a personal meaning to his life. This is how he breaks it down:
Palm trees: If you look at the bottom of my veins they are connected to the tree, which means family ( strong roots in family). Also the palm tree is a part of Jesus as he returned to Jerusalem after he rises from the dead ( Palm Sunday) three people greeted him with Palm tree leaves. Trees continue to grow slowly as I too learn to grow as a person.
Tiki is Love and prosperity, one Tiki means strength ( Tiki Ku).
Tribal tats are family ,inner growth and warrior protecting my family.
Ali Bata writing on the tribal tattoo translates to Trust in God.
Japanese tat represents that you are not a follower, you go against the current, you never give up, and are always on the go which means you're goal oriented. The black and gray Koi fish represents fatherhood.
An exhibit at Washington DC's Newseum, the museum of journalism, asks visitors this question: "Do you trust blogs as much as traditional news media?"

This was taken outside St. Cyriac's Church, Lacock. I was patiently waiting for the crowds to disperse whereas this tour guide was impatiently waiting for his tourist group to catch up

These images were taken on a trip home to Devon, where I managed to rally together some wonderful volunteers to model for me! A huge thank you to everyone involved, and apologies for muddied feet and rain frizzed hair!

Vintage postcard view of the imposing Union Trust Company building, designed by Wood, Dunn, and Deming and completed in 1906 on the southwest corner of 15th and H St NW. If the building looks narrow, that's because it is lacking the extension built along H Street in 1927, which doubled its size.
We had stayed the night in Buckingham and the evening would find us at Arundel. National Trust Stowe Gardens was mid way (ish) - sadly no flower gardens, but lots of parklands. Stowe House is not National Trust but is separate...
For the pedants the Octagon Lake most definitely did not look Octagonal, so I have no idea why it is called that, perhaps Uncle Google will help....
