Great Blue Heron. View Large. It is a large wading bird common near the shores of open water and in wetlands over most of North and Central America as well as the West Indies and the Galápagos Islands. It is a rare vagrant to Europe, with records from Spain, the Azores and England. An all-white population found only in the Caribbean and south Florida was once known as a separate species, the Great White Heron. IMG_6455
Took this shot this morning just before going out to feed the horses, when I first got up it didn't look like the morning sun and light was going ot cooperate at all. So when this started to develope the Pup and I ran out with the camera and had to give it a try .

I should mention that one of my horses was looking over my shoulder as I took this shot

Bald Eagle. View Large On Black Slim pickings for the eagles this year in the salmon spawning river. They heavy rains have washed the salmon remains out into the ocean leaving nothing for them to come up the river to feed on. Hence no eagle pictures for this year. This is one from a earlier year washing his beak after eating. Very dark area to take photos in. IMG_0007

I'm back from a few wonderful but hectic days in London. Overall the lighting was poor for photography but I was lucky enough to catch a dramatic sky over Tower Bridge.
