I broke open the change jar for Today's Posting Submission #145. (Make a photo of the loose change you receive today. Or open up the piggy bank if you need to.)

 

This manual shot posed a new challenge because of the glint from the coins. Constructive advice appreciated, as it still feels a bit too dark for my liking.

 

The one-cent piece is going to be discontinued by the Royal Canadian mint this year, although the coins will still hold their value. I wonder how many of us have little stashes of pennies that we never spend?

The government has made the decision to stop producing the penny due to rising production costs. It costs 1.6 cents to produce a penny.

 

So, in future, I guess we will have to say "nickel for your thoughts"
