Some people long for a life that is simple and planned
Tied with a ribbon
Some people won't sail the sea 'cause they're safer on land
To follow what's written
But I'd follow you to the great unknown
Off to a world we call our own
Hand in my hand
And we promised to never let go
We're walking a tightrope
High in the sky
We can see the whole world down below
We're walking a tightrope
Never sure, never know how far we could fall
But it's all an adventure
That comes with a breathtaking view
Walking a tightrope

Life is a Tightrope balance between Good & Bad - Positive & Negative. One cannot exist without the other.
This Lemur at Bristol's Wild Place could effortlessly run along a rope using a sequence of hand movements that are perfectly timed and performed.

Life should be lived on the edge. You have to exercise rebellion: to refuse to tape yourself to rules, to refuse your own success, to refuse to repeat yourself, to see every day, every year, every idea as a true challenge - and then you are going to live your life on a tightrope.

I wanted to do something more creative this week so I made a little matchstick man. I had him doing all sorts of things, watering flowers, trudging through the forest, and even dancing. I settled on him walking a "tightrope". We all walk a tightrope in our lives at times, but here we are, safe and on the other side. :)
Behind the scenes: As you can guess, I glued everything but the little man. ;) I could have broken the matchstick, I think but it wasn't breaking where and how I wanted. I decided to cut the sticks instead and glue them together. I don't think I ever do anything the easy way. HAHA!
I have most of the Great Grey owls used to my camera around here. They usually just go about their bird business ignoring me. This particular morning I found a pair sitting high up in a tree in not so great light but if you are patient enough and lucky you can catch them in places that are favourable without any background clutter. I was only surprised to see two more photographers join me. It was nice to shoot with others to compare notes. I was telling them at night when I sleep with my window open owls lull me to sleep and hoot in my dreams. The snow was hard so the owls were unsuccessful with their mouse hunting that morning.
Being acrophic I'm always fascinated by the ease with which squirrels move about at extreme heights.

A silky spider web strand overlays the solitary blossom of Columbine, a native wildflower found in Michigan. This one was seen in neighboring northern Ohio.
