Syringa vulgaris

The lilac (Syringa vulgaris), such a shame you can't smell it
This doesn't look like the lilacs I knew years ago, or maybe I've forgotten what they looked like. But the plant identification we page that I use says that this is a lilac. So be it.
Thank you for looking. Isn't God a great artist?
The story of lilac, according to Greek mythology, begins with a beautiful nymph named Syringa (lilac's botanical name). Captivated by her beauty, Pan, the god of the forests and fields, chased Syringa through the forest. Frightened by Pan's affections, Syringa escaped him by turning herself into an aromatic bush – the flower we now refer to as lilac.
HMM!
Macro Mondays: Pastel
Syringa vulgaris is a species of flowering plant, grown for its scented pink flowers in spring, this large shrub or small tree is widely cultivated and has been naturalized in parts of Europe and North America.
If that is not an indication of spring! Red lilac in abundance. Almost as in the spring and love song from 1953 by Willy Frisch: When the white lilac blooms again. Thus, the film of the same name with Romy Schneider - but I never saw.
