May The Fourth Be With You!

♫ The Twisted Empress ♫

Yes, it's that time of year again. Did any of you ever play SWTOR?

I did a long time ago. It was actually the only game that ever took me from SL other than Skyrim.

Anyway, there was a character in that game I always loved. Darth Zhorrid. She's still alive in that realm even though she's been dishonored by the Dark Council and today in our pic she makes her way to Tatooine. ;P

The ruins of Lindisfarne abbey and church on Holy Island, England.

It was a site of pilgrimage. The island is accessible from the mainland twice a day at low tide by a causeway.

Charlotte opened the book in her grandfathers old abandoned library, and suddenly the cure to all her pain was in just one word, fortitudo. She breathed the word in the dust falling all around her, "Fortitudo..." and just like that, the weight of all her pain was lifted from her core, taking the edges of years she's held on, to have it slip from her fingers, her eyes, her skin, her soul... she no longer had to run from herself anymore.

This is an explore of my capture "Energy Drive" flic.kr/p/K7EuwV

Captured by mounting my Canon upside-down to the inside of the windscreen of my car using a suction cup gadget holder. It had a screw mount for a GoPro or similar that fitted the tripod mount on the EOS. I then trailed a remote release to the drivers side which I could operate safely whilst keeping both hands on the steering wheel. The camera set up was full manual with bulb exposure of 7 seconds at f9, focal length was 18mm. For this image I have re-coloured the orange motorway lights to blue.

My first light painting photograph, created in my garden with a 31 second exposure time using a homemade 18 LED lightstick and a homemade 8 LED light string for the orb. The bright light in the background is a street lamp.

My favorite shot from Maine. I tried and tried to capture it. Then I just took a quick snap from inside the fort, and I really liked the way it turned out.

Portsmouth Harbor Light, the station was established in 1771. The present lighthouse was built in 1878 and it was automated in 1960.

This scene was inspired by a "Stellar" comic book I saw by Bret Blevins and writer by Joe Keatinge.

The magical "Muntjac" ship from the hit TV series "The Magicians" anchored in the Indian Arm just inside of Deep Cove. For the show, this sailboat has a figurehead of a Muntjac skeleton mounted to the bow. In the distance, mystical Jug Island, Camp Howdy in Belvedere, Belcarra Provincial Park and beyond to snow covered Eagle Mountain, high above Buntzen Lake. Captured early Saturday morning in Deep Cove, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ~ February 29, 2020 ☁️

"Muntjacs, also known as barking deer are small deer of the genus Muntiacus native to south and southeast Asia. Muntjacs are thought to have begun appearing 15–35 million years ago, with remains found in Miocene deposits in France, Germany and Poland. It is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN." ~ Wikipedia

Odysseus. The southwest quadrant. Gasoline alley. The stench from the sewers below were enough to make the strongest cast iron stomach queezy. But Petunia soaked it all up like a sponge. The radiator fluid, the gas, the blood and yeah, even the vomit. She was in her element. The perfect killing machine and once set in motion there was no turning her off. The die was cast. The contract set in stone. And tonight her target was a replicant known as Lake Lavender.

Petunia's down time had been short after the bank job. Mr. Winslow had been delighted with the take from the heist. Roger Drake had promised and delivered with her help of course, and the diamonds and the cash had been more than enough to bail Drake out his debt with Xavior Winslow. Drake had been promised his life would be spared if he came through on the deal, and so he was free to go. Petunia wasn't surprised. Xavior Winslow was a lot of things, but he was no liar. And he wasn't an idiot either. The sexual encounter between herself and Roger hadn't been by chance. Mr. Winslow knew how to manipulate people, and he knew what a man like Drake's weaknesses were. He'd use that weakness, and until he didn't need Drake any longer and Petunia would keep Roger enticed.

Roger Drake had not been the only one who owed that night. Mr. Winslow owed as well. Big time. And those debts were to none other than Lake Lavender herself. The take from the bank job helped but it wasn't enough. He'd tried to reason with Lavender but to no avail. The replicant couldn't be more clear, if he didn't have the whole sum in 48 hours he was a dead man. And even if he fled the city Lavender would find him eventually. But 'Willie the Deuce', now known as Xavior Winslow wasn't about to run. He'd been taking down rivals with his own brand of bad assery long before Lake Lavender's service date. So with everything to gain and nothing to lose he sent his most lethal weapon to do what so many Blade Runners would have loved to do themselves. Not that they would have succeeded.

Lake Lavender was the most renowned criminal mastermind in Odysseus. And that was saying a lot, as Odysseus was the most dangerous city in the nation. It would be unfair to say she'd come from nothing to become so notorious. She'd originally been designed to be a stripper and escort for the most powerful men and women in the world, hence she'd been passed around all the way from Odysseus to San Francisco, all the way to the Tannhasuer Gate. But Lake Lavender was unique. She was a very sophisticated replicant as well as a plant for The Federal Justice Department. Beautiful, charming, and intelligent, she processed the fighting skills of the most advanced martial artist. But her most unique quality was her longevity. It was reported she had a 50 year shelf life. And the fist two years of that life Lake had spent aiding the FJD in garnering a devastating amount of Intel on her targets. But what they didn't know was she'd also began to gather Intel on every department head in the FJD. And Lavander had a lot of Intel, damaging Intel. With their backs against the wall she was able to not only break from the department but keep them out of her hair while she conducted her affairs.

Perched several stories above the city street, Petunia would have a clear shot when Lake Lavender was ecorted to her Limousine. Even with the vehicles dark windows Petunia knew where to shoot. And it would right between the eyes. And just as the lights from a sky bus cut through the haze of polluted smog around her she spotted her target. Lavendar was dressed in a sequenced violet gown, wearing a black stole along with her lavish fur hat and veil. Petunia smirked as she peered through her scope thinking the replicant was quite the peacock. She held the sniper rifle steady as Lake entered the long dark car and just as the door closed Petunia aimed well. Taking a slow deep breath, her finger caressing the trigger, she grinned, exhaled slowly...

and squeezed.

This season's episodes of The Magicians on SyFy are ended, but I haven't yet gotten to view the last of my recordings.

For those who aren't familiar, Fillory is a magical land from which a serious villain in the first season came. And the butterflies were associated with him.

This is a Lego Inspired Interpretation of the opening scene from my friends working script of a comic book he is writing. He is a brilliant story teller, and when he finishes this, it is going to be incredible.

Somewhere in the Khold system...

Sadly no snow in Paris this year so I used a mix of sodium bicarbonate and shaving cream.

UV light photoshoot with UV sensitive makeup.

Douglas Byrnes is a mechanical genius-- crazy, some would even say, as if his constant exposure to the sun has baked his brain. Douglas doesn't let such talk get to him, though. He has more important things to do. And besides, who needs friends when you could have a Sandskipper instead? Betty always understands.

Douglas found Betty in a dune-whale carcass. Heaven knows how it got there. He managed to winch the back half out of the smilch and retrofit the front half with a solar sail. The old girl's been re-commissioned as his primary transport from town to town. Sure, he turns a few heads when he flies by-- but would it be a signature Byrnes creation if he didn't?
