Visitors` Catwalk at the „Captivate“ exhibition, edited by Claudia Schiffer in Düsseldorf

We had a lot of fun with these young ladies…

14.1.16... C forgot his fiddle so I had to head home and bring it back into school. Luckily it's a beautiful frosty morning. Taken through the school fence!

At high tide, this swing would be over or very close to the waterline. It's always a great sight to see along the coastlines.

Nice place for a swing. The Tilligerry Habitat along Tanilba Bay foreshore. Wouldn't want to fall off, that sand flat doesn't look too inviting to land on.

Fun fact - A mosquito has 47 teeth, located at the end of their proboscis. They use them to cut through our skin or layers of protective clothes. No wonder a mozzy bite stings hey !

"The Swing Bridge is a swing bridge over the River Tyne, England, connecting Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, and lying between the Tyne Bridge and the High Level Bridge. It is a Grade II* listed structure." (Wikipedia)

I spent some hours (and a night) in Newcastle upon Tyne before my flight went the next morning. And of course I had to revisit the bridges. Last time I was here was in 2005 but it's astonishing how much I remembered.

DoodlewashMay2025 prompt: Swing.

Did you know in the ancient past many countries used swings in ritualized ceremonies for religious, and magical rites? I don’t think my hedgehog is using his that way - he looks like he’s just having fun!

Whitby swing bridge swinging open.

This pair didn't seem to be fighting, and I don't think this was courtship. They shoved each other back and forth, round and round. Almost like a dance.

I noticed this swing at the stables the other day and it brought back happy childhood memories.

The "happiness" was enhanced with a couple of sliders in Lightroom 6

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

Swings in motion on the Midway at the New York State Fair near Syracuse, New York on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

What do you do when you don't have a tripod and want to take long exposure photos of colorful, moving Midway rides after sunset? You find a metal horizontal bar and rest your camera on it for extra stabilization to work with your camera's internal stabilization. Like how this came out.

Sale, VIC. Australia

Camera: Nikon D90

Lens: Nikon 35mm f/1.8

Decayed Swing. The swing sits in disrepair, no children left to swing in the spring breeze.

JPG as shot and processed from camera. Hand held IR on non-converted camera (f/1.4, 1/30th, ISO 3200 on a bright day). Sigma 30mm f/1.4 with Hoya R72 720nm Infrared filter (on lens). In camera processing, ("custom" filter with contrast adjustment and maybe "toy camera", don't recall exactly).

False color 720nm IR shots without the red/blue channel swap always look a little post-apocalyptic with the red skies and blue grass.

Overall, the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 is not good at all for IR photography. It has a strong hot spot in the center when near bright light (doesn't take a lot). It didn't show in this shot as I was standing in the shade looking into the bright area.
