Still trying to get a good shot of Susie in her white Winter coat but this was the only one that was not just her bottom or out of focus (she is very fast).
I have until Spring so fingers crossed as lots of other BWC members have managed to get her.
A early morning view of the fishing boats at Lyme Regis. It was the name of this particular boat that got my attention.

Along the north shore scenic drive in Minnesota. We rarely pass on a scenic overlook when we come upon one and are very glad we didn’t pass on this one. It’s got that wow factor!

this little cutie just arrived -- another evilbay purchase. she wasn't expensive at all! she's my first susie -- i'm wondering if those blue marks under her eyes are intended to be there or a result of age?
She is in great form now - Spayed on Wednesday and she took it all very seriously - She is a nervous and sensitive dog and so it was all a bit traumatic. Lovely to see her bounce back so positively.
Very hard to stop her jumping up and down on things - hopefully the stitches stay intact long enough to do their job.

Coming out of Cortland for Syracuse on a warm March day in 1998. Love the two little geeps all elephant style behind big mama F45. Getting a decent shot of the last F45 leading a Susie-Q train in good light has always been a challenge and a source of great frustration for me over the years. It only got harder as time went on.

Three C430's are rolling south at Robinson's Mills, just north of Brisben, NY on NYS&W's Utica branch back when stone for Barret's in Binghamton ran out of Richfield Jct on almost a daily basis.
time for a Susie picture (after all the Shay pictures the other day).
The 2 dogs are tolerating each other pretty well. Susie can be a bit mean to Shay but she is getting better at avoiding starting fusses.
Regina Spektor - Black and White
I went for my walk today (3/30/08) and when I got home I notice the temp approaching 50 so I decided to get Susie out. I grabbed the key and as I opened the door to the barn, she gave a little sigh (security alarm chirp). I unplugged the trickle charger and she yawned (chirp) when I turned off the security system. When I turned the ignition switch to ON, she was awaking with a humming sound of the electric fuel pump that sounded like the sound you make when you taste something good. I hit the starter and she groaned slightly as if not wanting to wake. But then the smell of spring air got to her and she awakened with a roar. Revving her a couple times to clear her throat, she was ready and rumbling excitedly as I backed her out of the barn. We swung around and I brought her up to the drive by the car. She wanted to go! You could hear it in her tone. She was saying "Come on, lets ride!" It was then that I was thinking how it was a shame that I did not have the registration for the plates. But, I decided to go down the street and around the block. If the police picked me up, I could claim stupidity and hope for the best. So, I zipped up, and climbed back into her saddle. You could feel her excitement. Up went the kickstand and as I eased the clutch in, I could feel her smiling. A click down on the gear shift and she was ready. A little throttle and ease the clutch out and we started down the drive. Man, you could feel her wanting to go. As I turned out of the drive, the clutch fully engaged, I opened up the throttle and she reared back and took off like a raped ape! The breeze whipping by as we hit 2nd, then 3rd then 4th gears. But, we had to brake for a turn. We dropped to 2nd again and opened her throttle and she screamed with excitement as we finally hit 5th gear. Unfortunately, I had to ease off, being in a residential neighborhood. But she purred along like a warm kitten as we cruised down the street. After we made it around the block and back into the drive, I eased her back into the barn. When I turned her ignition off, she sighed again as if saying, thank you for stretching my legs! I locked her up, turned on the security system and locked the barn but not before telling her that tomorrow, she gets some new clothes, a shiny little sticker that goes on her plate with the numbers 12-08 on it. I closed the door with a tear in my eye and a smile on my face! Susie is awake!

This is the hotel in the movie My Cousin Vinny that Vinny kept getting woken up by the train. There are no train tracks here.
The Susie Agnes Hotel, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is an intact example of a turn-of-the-century commercial and hotel building typically constructed in a small Georgia community. The building is the design of W.D. Calvin, a local Morgan County architect / builder who also designed several other buildings in Bostwick. The building was originally used as both hotel and commercial space and as a meeting space for the local Masonic Lodge.
Expecting continued growth and prosperity in the city, founder, John Bostwick, Sr. constructed the Susie Agnes Hotel in 1902 to house the growing number of traveling salesmen, or "drummers," who came through town, visiting the supply company, and also the oil press. The hotel was reportedly named for Bostwick's wife, Susie, and his sister, Agnes.
Bricks for the hotel were made from clay from Bostwick's own property. Two stories in height, the hotel followed the convention of smaller hotels of the era. Apparently, only the upper floor was used for hotel rooms. Nine rooms opened off the central hallway. The original kitchen, dining area, and lobby were located on the ground floor along the northwest side. Additional rooms, apparently used fro an apartment for the hotel manager and his family, were also on the ground floor. Bathrooms were located at the rear on both the ground and upper floors. The rear of the second floor was devoted mainly to a Masonic Hall, which Bostwick, an active Mason, provided for the local lodge. A separate staircase provided access from the alley to the southeast.
The southeast side ground floor was used for commercial purposes from the beginning. The space consisted of a single room, separated from the original hotel lobby, kitchen and dining room by a plank partition wall. The store was conceived of by John Bostwick, Sr. as a provision store - a use that continued under various owners through the 1970s. Under and with rail-mounted ladders, most of which remain in place today. There was also a screened store office window, at one time located near the entrance, dating from approximately 1915 but now moved to the rear of the lower floor. A well to the north provided water, pumped by a small engine to a steel cistern above. Water was then supplied by gravity to both the floors of the adjacent hotel.
