Mehrangarh Fort is one of the largest and most beautiful forts in India, and it's right next to the Blue City. The fort is famous for its impressive architecture, which was built by Rao Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur, back in 1459.
So, there's this legend about a hermit called Cheeria Nathji. Apparently, he meditated on the hill where Rao Jodha picked the fort, and then he was kicked off the site. Nathji was so upset by this that he cursed Rao's family, saying that his fort would suffer from a lack of water. However, Rao Jodha built a home and temple for Nathji inside the fort. To stop the curse, Rao buried a man named Rajiya Bambi alive to bring good luck to the new fort. In return, the man was promised that his family and descendants would be taken care of by the Rathors and that he would be compensated. Despite this, the fort is still threatened by drought every three to four years.

As a result, the varied building styles of many different periods are represented, including the 20th century.
