So after waking in the middle of the night, ended up taking #long #exposure photos in the dark when the clouds decided to intervene with the moon watching. Wanted to enjoy photography anyway :)
Focusing was really, really hard as there wasn't that much of anything to focus on :D

Supermoon Lunar Eclipse 2015. The blood-red eclipse was captured from all around the world and I captured from not so clear sky of New Delhi (India). 'Blood Moon', takes its name from the reddish hue the moon takes as Earth's shadow passes over it. People in North America, South America, West Africa and Western Europe witnessed Total Lunar Eclipse.

A shot of the ancient Corfe Castle during the Super blood moon. Taken from underneath the old steam-railway bridge, dodging traffic I watched the moon turn red as it hung over the starry skies.

Full moon rising on May 26 2021 during sunset at Woy Woy, NSW, Australia. This night is a rare event with a Super Moon, a Blood Moon, also known as the Flower Moon and the Lunar Eclipse.
A progression of shots starting with the full "Super Moon" and ending with a fully eclipsed "Blood Moon". I wanted to get a few context shots with the moon above the water, but the weather didn't cooperate.
Taken in nature reserve "High Fens" (French: Hautes Fagnes; German: Hohes Venn; Dutch: Hoge Venen) at about 600 meters height near by the border of Germany and Belgium.
It was much colder than expected, but a great experience to hang around with the belling deer while trying to get the damn thing in focus...
Stacked from 17 selected shots.
... Super Blood Wolf Moon - During a total lunar eclipse, Earth completely blocks direct sunlight from reaching the Moon. The only light reflected from the lunar surface has been refracted by Earth's atmosphere. This light appears reddish for the same reason that a sunset or sunrise does: the Rayleigh scattering of bluer light. Due to this reddish color, a totally eclipsed Moon is sometimes called a blood moon.
Took a little creative licence with this photo of the Milky Way and the partially eclipsed Super Blood Moon. Phew that's a lot all at once isn't it! Always nice to see the starscape looking better than my naked eye can see.
Taken from Mt. Vernon Washington, had to be quick to get this shot!. Had several others that were blurry, this was the only clear shot.
It is the dawn of January 21, 2019, and this is the final phase of the lunar eclipse that was witnessed that night.
E' l'alba del 21 gennaio 2019 e questa è l'ultima fase dell'eclissi di luna a cui si era assistito quella notte.

We managed to get up to the Mount Baker Ski Area with enough time to spare to catch the alpenglow on Mount Shuksan.
with about 2X digital zoom. It's a Harvest Moon because it's the full moon nearest the Autumnal Equinox. It's a Super Moon because the full moon occurred near perigee, the moon's closest approach to Earth. It's a Blood Moon because it's in total eclipse, bathed in sunlight that has passed through the Earth's atmosphere.
