Het Stift, Weerselo. Het heeft vannacht iets gesneeuwd.
The name Stift is related to founding and means spiritual foundation. By this they meant a building for persons who lived and worked together in a monastic context. However, not all monasteries can be called Stiften, because under a Stift they understood those spiritual foundations where only unmarried ladies from the nobility were admitted. The Abbey of Weerselo was first a Benedictine monastery, which after centuries was delivered in a Abbey, where the nobility came to receive a good education.

Early Sunday morning, walking on rue du Cloitre Notre Dame, the bells ringing. So much peace at that moment. And I am peaceful for having this memory.
not a great shot ... but we had fun trying to get a shot. It involved running up and down, as my remote clicker wouldn't work ... the dogs enjoyed it !

A couple of weekends ago, we stepped out the front door with the camera. We have been in our new home for 4 months now and are thrilled with our own little acre and a half of Forest Preserve.

I discovered this pink poppy in a large, expansive field of poppies. This single pink poppy stands out impressively from its white-blooming companions.
