First flown with the Boeing test registration N8277V, this aircraft was delivered to Lauda Air as OE-LNP in Mar-02. Lauda Air was merged into Austrian Airlines in Oct-04 although it continued to operate in Lauda Air livery until it was finally repainted into full Austrian Airlines livery in Feb-10. It was fitted with blended winglets in Aug-08. In Jul-12 all Austrian Airlines aircraft were transferred to Austrian subsidiary, Tyrolean Airways (because of flying staff strikes and a Union refusal to accept new terms & conditions in a restructured company). Tyrolean operated as Austrian Airlines and the aircraft had small 'Operated by Tyrolean Airways' titles added. The aircraft was stored at Vienna in Apr-13 and was returned to the lessor in May-13 when it was ferried to Shannon, Ireland. It was leased to SunExpress Deutschland as D-ASXB in Jul-13. Current (Jun-17).
First flown with the Boeing test registration N1786B, it was re-registered N1784B 2 days later. This aircraft was delivered to a lessor and leased to the original Lauda Air as OE-LNK in Mar-99. Lauda Air was merged into Austrian Airlines in Oct-04.
The aircraft was sub-leased to Jet-X Airlines (Iceland) in Sep-06 and sub-leased to Heimsferdir (Iceland) 2 days later, operated by Austrian. It returned to Austrian in Mar-07. It was fitted with blended winglets, repainted in a modified Lauda Air livery and transferred to a 'new' Lauda Air in May-07.
The aircraft was sub-leased to Jet-X Airlines again between Oct-07/May-08. It was returned to Austrian Airlines in 2010. In Jul-12 Austrian Airlines was 'closed down' by the management after numerous industrial disputes.
All the aircraft were transferred to Austrian subsidiary, Tyrolean Airways and staff were invited to apply for their jobs with Tyrolean at 'more reasonable' pay rates. The aircraft were still operated as Austrian Airlines with small 'Operated by Tyrolean Airways' titles added.
In Jun-13 the aircraft was returned to the lessor and leased to SunExpress Airlines Germany as D-ASXA the following month. The SunExpress Group are jointly owned by Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines and After the COVID-19 Pandemic hit Europe in Mar-20.
They decided to close SunExpress Germany down in Jun-20. Some services were transferred to Eurowings with the rest going to SunExpress Turkiye, along with most of SunExpress Germany's B737 fleet. Some were returned to lessors.
This aircraft was withdrawn from service and stored at Antalya, Turkiye in Jun-20. It was officially transferred to SunExpress Turkiye as TC-SOT in Sep-20. Current, updated 08-Nov-24.
