The next morning, Tamara returned to her sun lounger feeling completely satisfied.
After all, yesterday’s problem had been fully resolved.
The leaf had been properly disposed of.
Mita Beach had been saved.
And summer could finally continue undisturbed.
Tamara had a clear plan:
Lie down.
Enjoy the sunshine.
And avoid saving a single season for at least the next three hours.
But then she stopped.
There was a leaf lying on her sun lounger.
And another one beside it.
And another one.
Tamara’s eyes widened as she pressed both hands to her cheeks in horror.
This couldn’t be happening!
She had personally disposed of that leaf yesterday. Professionally. Permanently. With a victory sign!
Apparently, it had still found enough time to tell its entire extended family that Mita Beach offered free sun loungers.
Some of them were already lying on it.
Others were waiting beside it.
And every single one looked suspiciously as though it had booked an extended stay.
Tamara had questions.
Who had invited them?
How had they gotten here?
And why was one of them lying in her spot?
Slowly, she began to understand:
This was no longer a coincidence.
Autumn had officially filed an appeal against yesterday’s defeat. 😂
Tamara took a deep breath.
Fine.
If autumn wanted a second round,
then a second round was exactly what it would get.
