A striking sunflower stands tall under the Castilian sun, its vibrant petals glowing above the earthy fields of Palencia.

This is not far from Downers Grove. It is in Oakbrook and I found it on the way home the other night and I knew I wanted to bring the camera over to see it as the pond closer to me is so overgrown that I need a 15 foot ladder to see the water now. But it is marked "Private" and "No Trespassing" all over the place. Seems to be my calling card. Just another place I can get kicked out of. It is so private that I had to park the car about a mile away and walk over and then realized I left the ball head for the tripod in the car! Doh! But I did not get kicked out or chased by a pack of dogs which was a good thing. So I guess I will go back there. With the entire tripod.....

This was shot just as the sun came out from behind a cloud early evening.
