Summer temperatures and lack of water this year took its toll on some flowers, I came across this Tiger Lily just after a quick downpour, definitely made for a fantastic photo opportunity-HMM
A summer time landscape on a late evening with a cloudy sky above Old Winchester Hill Fort taken with a Canon EOS 77D on EF 70-200mm F4L USM lens.
Summer is beginning to take a toll on everybody and that's what the cats are like almost all day. I don't mind if they sleep during the day but it's difficult if they are hyperactive during the night and expect you to be awake too.
This kind of photo always allows me to inspect Fynn's tongue which used to be full of ulcerations due to his cat flu but looks pretty good right now.

More photos from recent walks at Newbold Comyn. This is another Chicory flower, which have the most intricate stamens, dusted with pollen.
Spring is slowly arriving with summer on the way soon as leaves start to pop here.
Hope your weekend is bright and thanks for looking!
A violent night during summer in Western Australia. Lightning cracks over the top of bushfires already lit by earlier storms.

Summer is a promissory note signed in June, its long days spent and gone before you know it, and due to be repaid next January.

I've been slowly working through images from various trips over the summer when I finally got to my images from Glacier, which I was none too excited about. The road closures and the very late wildflower season made any photography here at the prime locations and prime times of day difficult at best.
None of the images from this sunset (our only sunrise or sunset in Glacier given the difficulties) seemed to have any potential, which is why it has taken so long to get to them. The color in the sky wasn't terribly strong and the dynamic range seemed terribly high. An ND grad filter was doing nothing to help - I needed one that was roughly the shape of that mountain which of course I didn't have. But noting that I had exposures of differing focus points and exposures I decided to try blending them to see what came out. The result is what you see here - a focus and exposure stacked, manually blended image. I would like something better from this amazing park, but this will have to do for now. Any feedback appreciated.
