I shot this footage in August 2016 and thought it was just such a pretty drive. My GoPro camera was mounted with a suction cup mount on the inside of the windshield. This is slightly faster than real life so I can cram more into 3 minutes. Be my passenger and enjoy the beauty!

I attached the GoPro to the bumper of my car for a slow drive through one of the last precious jewels remaining of the ancient old growth forests that once graced the entire Northern California coast. It's very hard to capture in a photograph the sheer magnitude and glory of these trees. I think video does it somewhat better.

The Save-the-Redwoods League, founded in 1918, deserves much praise for protecting these long-lived giants. About 5% of the original old-growth redwood forest remains today.

I conclude my little posting spree with a video that again picks up on the theme of transportation. Here I attached my GoPro with a suction cup mount to the passenger-side windshield. It is very steady and gives a wonderful view while leaving me to concentrate on driving! Normally, I avoid driving on the freeway through Portland as it can be a total traffic nightmare, like in every city, but on this beautiful summer morning I decided to take the risk so I could try out my new dash cam, and it turned out to be a great ride! As a bonus, I caught the Portland Aerial Tram passing overhead, one of only two aerial commuter trams in the US (the other is in New York).

The playback speed is increased by 75% so that I could fit it into the 3-minute limit for Flickr videos.

The view might be even better if I had a colossal 18-wheeler so I could mount it higher ... but oh well! I don't want to drive one of those!

Another Sunday drive with my beautiful ladies sleeping in the backseat. Pretty standard weekend routine for us these days - pile into the car, drive until Mika and Michika fall asleep, go for walk at a park somewhere.

I liked the hood of the car, so I tweaked it a bit.

A mistake in the making. I intended to drill the hole for tapping out the threads to fit the 1/4 X 20" set screw. I got ahead of myself and used a 1/4" drill bit to make the hole. DUH! It should have been a smaller hole to allow for tapping the 1/4" threads. Oh, well, at least I have 2 of these mounts to play with. I'll drill another hole to this piece, but it will be off-set just a bit. I can drill out a hole to the front of the aluminum and add in a GoPro tripod adapter to hook up my GoPro camera, too.

This was really hard. The flash adds too much complexity.

I can easily reposition the Super Clamp on the side or top of this Harbor Freight plastic suction cup piece, so it provides a lot of variable camera mounting positions.

The rubber end piece off of an old roller blade brake stopper. It was added to a suction cup mount I had.

A mistake in the happening.

I used small washers on this side and some short bolts just long enough to secure the metal part of the magnet that will go into the holder.

I always tape one strip of clear or brown packing tape over all parts of the round magnet enclosed in the round piece of metal. This helps to cut down on any paint marring and also does not reduce the pull force of the magnets. Packing tape works great for this purpose. I also used a large washer under the metal base of the magnet to ensure the edge of the magnet was right at the edge of the round holder it is contained in.

just got bored with my gopro again so i used the suction cup mount on the inside of my windshield and drove from my house to McDonalds to my friends house.

I figured this suction cup mount from Panavise would give me more mounting options for the pico projector. The arm seems unnecessarily heavy (it is metal). www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000246ST6?ie=UTF8&tag=robo...
