NS 212 crosses into South Carolina just after sunrise on a bank foggy morning with a trio of UP motors. Thankfully the fog rolled just enough to reveal the lead motor in the golden morning light.
After a solidly cloudy day, the sun finally found a sucker hole to shine through right before sunset and the timing was perfect. NS 15T came rolling through Shippensburg with a sandblasted Spartan Cab leader.

After a frustrating 30 miles of chasing a clouded up train, i finally got my relief when i glanced up, and a sucker hole was moving up to the sun's position, oh so perfectly. I made a mad dash in front of the train, and i hit the brakes at the bridge just south of La Crecent. The train rounded the S curves, and the sucker hole was just letting the sun pour out light at the last minute, and the grey KCS duo pours out into some awesome evening light, and checks itself in the mirror in a pond.

A dear friend gave my daughter a pack of Disney lollipops. I smuggled this one away to make this image vowing that I would replace it. Every color combo makes me work hard to process it, always second guessing myself along the way. One more day and then I can make my collage for the month and move on from this project. I am ready to chase light again, pull out my toys, play with water and nature. Happy first night of Passover and Good Friday to those who are observant. I'll be missing my family's company this year and will be thinking of them.
It was a stressful day of shooting on the Apache but we ended up getting a few sucker holes that made the trip worth it to this western Alco road.

Missabe 316 and 193 under the hand of engineer Max Medlin clear snow from the top of the Big Sucker River trestle. With icy roads I wasn't able to safely beat them to the next bridge but Kevin was able to get a nicely lit image as they crossed over that structure.
I am following the sage advice of Austin Kleon which is to create - share - repeat and I am going to keep doing it every day. I've been listening to too many "experts" and then start thinking and questioning instead of just doing.
Another tough day in working in a monochrome palette, red, what was I thinking? Unfortunately, there were no fresh red fruits or veggies around to work with but these suckers have been waiting around since Christmas and it was their time to shine. Have a great day and weekend!

I didn't manage much sun on this move, but just enough. This is the first time I have seen a CN job pull Boston Yard and reach Mikes Yard. 400/402/909 make for a nice EMD tunnel set.
