A Subaru carrying a large boulder appears to be attempting to burrow into the ground. It is one of over 40 vehicles upended in the "International Car Forest of the Last Church" aka ATV track, outside Goldfield, Nevada.
I wonder how many people today, especially Subaru owners know that the brand came into the American market in the late 1960s with this, the 360. They even pronounced it 'su-BA-ru' in the ads. It was a sales flop.
When the next set of cars from the make arrived, the pronunciation was changed to the now more familiar 'SU-ba-rooo' presumably to distance the cars from the Model 360 flop.

A pleasant surprise to see this very tidy example. Looks to have been off the road from 2014 to its latest MoT in 2023, [erhaps undergoing restoration?
If it's been on that plate since new I wonder if it was by Riddelsdell Bros in Boxford, Suffolk?

Subaru saw the success of the Nissan Verita (a retro-style version of the March) and decided to launch the Casa Blanca, based on the locally-assembled Impreza LX Wagon. It was produced for two years by Ta Ching Subaru until Ta Ching filed for bankruptcy, which would mean the end of local production of Subaru cars in Taiwan.

The Subaru Crosstrek is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by Subaru since 2012. It is a successor to the Outback Sport in the United States and Canada, and the Impreza XV globally. Like the Outback Sport, the Crosstrek is a lifted Impreza hatchback with minor differences, though with a more substantial lift than the Outback Sport.
Initially, the vehicle was marketed as the XV globally, and as the XV Crosstrek in the United States and Canada. In 2015, Subaru dropped the XV moniker in the United States and Canada, marketing it simply as the Crosstrek for the 2016 model year and onward. In 2022, Subaru introduced the third-generation model, using the Crosstrek nameplate globally for the first time.

This is our third Subaru and second Crosstrek. We kept our first Crosstrek (a 2014 Premium model) for 8 years and plan on keeping this one (a 2024 Premium model) for a long time, as well. They are by far the best cars we’ve owned.
Right after leaving the dealership, we went directly to Lake Michigan and got it a bit dirty. We’re firm believers that dirty is a Subaru’s natural state!
