HAPPY PRIDE
These last two years Pride has meant so much more to me than it ever has because I had at last been able to start my transition.
The hardest part about it is for all those years, I was the only one actually holding myself back. Letting fear completely consume me and anger guide me...I really resented the person I was and in so many ways was ashamed of what I let myself become.
Finally giving up the facade, giving in to the life I have always wanted, and giving me not only confidence and happiness in life but respect for myself. I spent 29 years pretending to be someone else to make everyone around me happy and comfortable while completely ignoring the things I needed to be the same.
To be able to walk by a mirror and smile at myself for the first time, ever, has been such a wild concept for me to grasp - that after all this time I can look at who I am and find nothing wrong instead of spending an hour dissecting every flaw about the person looking back at me.
Not only that, I spent the last 16 months completely single for the first time in my life. I relied on me to support me. Of course this was not easy but I have worked my ass off to give myself a small cushion of barely above poverty luxury.
All in all at the end of the day - I am happy I am comfortable and I am getting better every day...One step at a time.
