At my age (and with my genes) every day is a bad hair day. Shot in my studio with no combs.

I am most certainly up to no good, as is the way of the women of my tribe. I'm usually conspiring about something or other, so this is a part of my weekly conspiracy series.
Strobist info: Nikon SB900 on 1/4 power in a 60 inch softbox, camera right, about 2.5ft from me. Nikon SB900 on 1/8th power with grid spot and light green gel, 8ft camera left, pointed downward at my feet. All triggered by pocket wizard II's.

Dina is one of those dedicated Ukrainian models who travel across Europe for intensive photography tours. During these short stays, they often handle up to four shoots a day, primarily focused on lingerie and nude photography. It’s a professional circuit that allows these models to earn a living while providing amateur photographers with the opportunity to work with highly experienced talent.
We connected through a well-known networking site for photographers and models. After our initial discussions, I told her I was interested in her profile but wanted to try something different—stepping away from the typical lingerie or nude aesthetic. While I previously shared a photo of her with her partner, Nani, we also spent time capturing natural light portraits and studio work.
I felt her features were perfectly suited for high-end "Beauty" photography. For this specific shot, I used a beauty dish positioned directly above her face to create those sculpted shadows. I paired it with the "magic" Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro, a lens that continues to deliver incredible optical quality.
I am thrilled with the outcome. I managed to capture that specific, soulful expression that has become a signature of my portrait work.

We all have to step into the light sometimes to show our worth. When I need a model, then O, door101 www.flickr.com/photos/door101 always step into the spotlight. On this day I did not manage to capture my subject the way I intended, but I was not unhappy either. Thanks O for allowing to post this picture
Another attempt to make a classic portrait like a painting. Feel free to comment.

I LOVE Porgs! I have a friend who loves SW and has this stormtrooper armour. We saw a sketch art and based on that picture we had a photo shooting to make the 'real' version of that art. Original idea and sketch art: Shane Molina

The skull is a bony structure in the head of most vertebrates (in particular, craniates) that supports the structures of the face and forms a protective cavity for the brain. The skull is composed of two parts: the cranium and the mandible. The skull forms the anterior most portion of the skeleton and is a product of encephalization, housing the brain, many sensory structures (eyes, ears, nasal cavity), and the feeding system.
Functions of the skull include protection of the brain, fixing the distance between the eyes to allow stereoscopic vision, and fixing the position of the ears to help the brain use auditory cues to judge direction and distance of sounds. In some animals, the skull also has a defensive function (e.g. horned ungulates); the frontal bone is where horns are mounted.
The English word "skull" is probably derived from Old Norse "skalli" meaning bald, while the Latin word cranium comes from the Greek root κρανίον (kranion).
The skull is made of a number of fused flat bones.
