This is just around the corner, where we live in Thornley, a pit village in Durham. Taken during the recent cold snap. Weather is milder now and more bearable but it’s not looking as magical without the white stuff. Can’t win 😂
Had a busy week due to the change of plan for Christmas, but we are pretty much sorted. Just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and hope you have a joyful stress-free day.

For a brief moment in time, you forget about all the issues going on in the world. This very protective Black Skimmer Was trying to control three little ones. She had another under her, as the sun was rising behind me.
I did something different with this one, since I was using a different skin I created a face for the Avalon head which is not my usual head. This skin looks great on Avalon! Also got to say I love the Xue shirt from ZFG.T he end of the year/beginning of the next are hugely stressful times, take care to self care and enjoy yourself :)

Slough adjacent to the salt ponds and marshes of Don Edwards Refuge has a periodic uptick in Halobacterium and microscopic algae that thrives in briny water. As the salt level goes up, they get stressed and produce this red color.
The bird picking it's meal at the confluence of blue and the pink salty water makes for a very mesmeric and hypnotic scene.
I did capture a few and will post it later. I hope to have more such encounters and capture a few more of these under such circumstances.

Well it's been one of those weeks at work where I've felt a little stressed, pressed and needing another 24 hours in each day. I stumbled on this photo from Trentham Gardens last night, reminding me of happy, relaxing times with family a couple of months ago. I reckon I could learn a bit from these dandelions...*bursts into songs from Frozen*!! Looking forward to time off over Easter and hopefully catching up with comments here too :)

This is too much to handle alone and it’s important to remember that God’s presence surrounds you in each moment and you have the gift of your small though incredibly mighty group of supporters. Things are unclear, difficult, scary, require a tremendous amount of perseverance, and when you reflect on the past the healing process is evident, encouraging and certainly worth the effort it requires.

Recently I was struggling a lot with my own intense mental health struggles in addition to the stress and fear of my husband’s health struggles and recent hospitalization. Somehow I found the strength to spend some time outside capturing the beauty I saw in the fog and frost that was visible through the windows that morning—it seemed to tell an important, uplifting story that helped me continue pressing on.

It is probably projection to think that this adult eagle looks stressed out from its endless feeding, nurturing, and sentry-duty. This is from our friendly neighborhood eagles' nest in one our nearby Genesee County Parks.
