Deep East Texas.
Tree roots have been exposed as the bank has eroded away along this gentle stream that meanders through the Sabine National Forest. Small springfed streams like this one are shallow with sandy bottoms and crystal clear water that stays cold even in summer.
It is hard to capture the magic of last light in the forest, however the woods seemed to glow as I took this shot, just as the sun was casting its final rays.
It rained today so I thought I'd head out to one of the forest reserves which has a waterfall. However, when I arrived it was threatening to rain again so I did not venture out to the falls. Instead I headed for the streams. This is the first of a handful that I managed to shoot before it started to drizzle.
Comment for improvement is much appreciated. Thank you
