An edit of a photo I took in the summer of 2006 with my then-new Canon EOS 30D DSLR and its "better" kit lens, the EF-S 17-85mm F/4-5.6 IS USM. This was my first second go with Pixelstyle Photo Editor. I used the artistic "Cartoon" artistic filter and adjusted the settings until I got something I liked. The app is neat and free(!) but it definitely updates the preview image sluggishly. One cannot have everything.

I just got back from the Road Scholar/Elder Hostel trip today. (Well, actually I'm still in LA visiting my daughter) I was the assistant guide with a friend of mine from Denali. We traveled 1,245 miles in 7 days, and saw Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, and Death Valley National Parks. Needless to say, I took hundreds of pictures. We all had a wonderful time, with perfect weather and breathtaking landscapes.
LR-10017-2 - Not sure if this one counts for the assignment, but I was wonder what goes on in tree roots on the stream or river banks. Home for a Troll, Water Rat or even a Kingfisher, then you watch and see the Boatmen taking a rest or a bird sitting and waiting for some interesting to come by.

More detail at the larger sizes. Stay cool!
The intake manifold has been painted wrinkle black, the polished velocity stacks are in, and the injector harness is underway. So far so good.
The Hall of Mosses Trail in the Hoh Rainforest (part of the Olympic National Park) is filled with old temperate trees covered in green and brown mosses. Trees include bigleaf maples and Sitka spruces. The mosses on the trees do not damage the trees. However, the trees can fall by the winds in storms because of their shorter roots due to the abundance of nutrients and water in the forest. Many trees and mosses grow from and over the fallen tree trunks.
