Another variant of the beautiful Weaver birds found in our region. All the weavers usually are in a mixed flock and sometimes in a stroke of luck we get all together - like what happened with me.
These Streaked Weavers are also full time residents in the region, but they are a bit hard to spot other times. Very similar to the Baya Weavers in almost all aspects. Primary differentiator is the dark thick streaking on the breast area.
I suspect this could be a juvenile Streaked Weaver as the Streaks are developing, but I am not fully sure. Baya Weavers surely don't develop streaks - that much I am certain.
Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.

This was the first shot I took from this mornings trip out to Llyn Idwal. It is very rare that the first shot ever sees the light of day as it is usually just to see what is there. This one though perhaps, set the tone for the whole visit which has turned out to be quite productive.
The Brown Clipper is quite a large butterfly and is one of the stronger flyers in the butterfly family and they can cover a good amount of ground each day. They live mainly in open countryside near or along rivers and streams. The adults feed on a variety of flowers and this is where the female lays her eggs, when the eggs hatch, they stay on the plant and they eventually form a chrysalis and so they cycle continues. They are a lovely and colourful butterfly and its lovely to watch them flying and it sometimes looks like they are dancing when there are a number of them.
I took on the entire Berg Lake Trail in Mount Robson Provincial Park yesterday. Round trip, it is over 50 kilometres in length. I made it to Berg Lake and back in 9 hours and 7 minutes. You spend almost all your time on the trail hiking in this behemoths shadow. Once the valley opens up to Berg Lake itself, pictures do not do the place justice. It rendered me speechless. It was a day well spent and I'm very happy I took on such a crazy journey.

Thanksgiving Day.
In a small section of the park there is a fresh water current going downstream and I caught these Fall leaves floating along past this rock.
Wandering through these woods in the winter is quite different compared to summertime. In the summertime birds are singing, bugs are buzzing and other animals are living quite extrovert lives. Winter gives calmness, anticipation and preparation for warmer days. Suddenly this streak will be very much alive. I hope to see the same place again during spring.

Todays challenge on www.photochallenge.org/ was Grain
So popped ouy at lunch time and walked a bit and got quite a few shots of the grain on wood soe of which were OK, then as I returned to the office I nocied this in a planter thing outside my office, which to me looks like some sort of Grain, took tons of shots of it but not many turned out as it was windy and gusty at time,s and it seemed the at times was about every time I ws about to click the shoot button, went down three times with the camera when I thought the wind was calming down but seems I was wrong each time LOL
So hear is todays shot, a bit late working on it tonight so quick processing and perhaps over the top, not sure I like it but to tired to go back and do it again
Not sure if I will have time to catch up with all your streas tonight but will cathc up soon

This was a first for me and what a moment it was... A pair of Great Crested Grebes perform their elaborate 'weed dance' as part of their courtship display.
I feel very privileged to have seen this.

After an awesome session out at Nugget Point lighthouse Jay and I stopped by Purakaunui Falls (don't ask me to pronounce this) and try our luck at capturing some of these amazing waterfalls in the Catlins. I made the first move to jump into the water to shoot, which was lucky as the sun was behind the clouds for around 3mins before rising above the clouds and making it difficult to photograph.
We ended up spending more time setting up the dolly for a timelapse, which actually looks awesome when the light is sweeping through.
La famosa Font del Lleó, al cor de Caldes de Montbui, realment dona fè de venir del interior de la terra, amb els seus 74º de temperatura. Es pot tocar amb les mans, però gaire més d'un segón i pots quedar prou bullit!

===================================================
In the very center of Caldes de Montbui, a town in Catalonia, famous for it's hot baths, lays the main hot spring, La Font del Lleó (the Lion fountain). The original structure is at least from the XVI Century, but most of the sculptures arround it were built in 1929, with a lion presiding it all.
The spring is quite hot, with an all year long strea of 74ºC water. You can put your hand it the spring but just for a moment, or risk a real burn!
In Roman times a thermal complex was built just here and it's preserved, look at the picture to the side.
I recently returned from a trip to Iceland, where I’ve never seen such an astounding diversity of landscapes on such a small island. On a single drive, you can pass through everything from volcanoes to glaciers, forests to waterfalls, and everything in between.
This was taken at the summit of Goðafoss - the "Waterfall of the Gods". It was named for the time in the year 999 when Lawspeaker Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði made Christianity the official religion of Iceland and, after his conversion, threw his statues of the Norse gods into the waterfall.
