♡ PLACE ♡

Hypnotic: Romantic Island - Dance - Romance - Relax - Est 2012

I found this location super hard to get a decent photo of. Super harsh bright daylight, the amount of safety barriers and rope, the number of tourists, a tele lens would of been nice. I should of read a bit more research about this location before rocking up... - And on top of that the stench of gasses being emitted from the active terrain is enough to turn any stomach. Def looking forward to having another go at this place in the future.

Still, one of the most surreal and alien looking landscapes I've ever seen!

A Happy New Year

. . . Did I fall asleep during one of your exciting lectures again? It won't happen again, I promise!

Me: Yea right! That's what happens when it's afternoon, your stomach is full, and the sun is bright in your eyes.

Actually, this is probably the same Snowy Owl I shot last week on exactly the same little patch of snow! He's got this spot reserved in case of a green/brown Christmas!

Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!

ON THE ALTAR OF EGO

The blow to my stomach had knocked me down, and I was out of air. But water isn’t breathable and I was sinking. My body was heavy, I needed to swim, but my arms disobeyed. I asked them again, but still they remained. I saw the sunlight above, getting further away, and then there was peace, and I knew, I was fading away.

Nothing flashed before me, no life, no light, no tunnel, no guides or dead relatives, just grayness and peace.

I stood before the first of the judges. I was confident, I had my story straight. If my life was an open book, I could explain every page. We stood together watching me go through my daily routines. It was strange to stand outside of myself and see what others would see.

My earthly body came to rest on the ground, fifteen feet under water, it had stopped breathing and the minutes were ticking away.

The second judge came dressed as a monk. He could see into my mind, nothing hidden. We watched those daily routines, but now my thoughts were read, shared and exposed. I felt threatened, vulnerable, but I had my story straight.

My earthly consciousness slipped away and I was free, a spirit, pure energy.

The third judge sat as you would expect a judge to sit, behind a raised desk, dressed in a black robe, this was it. I began to resent the whole process. I had been patient with these violations of my privacy, but to be judged by another? I was about to protest, but the judge simply smiled and it opened my mind,.

My friends were playing in the water above, but Peter had noticed me gone, and he noticed me gone, and he noticed me gone, and then he swam to the side and ran.

I had lost my earthly connection, my worries and cares and I could see who I was with alarming clarity. There was nothing to defend, nothing to explain, no need to complain. I didn’t need a judge to tell me anything, I could see it for myself. Each day, each hour, was no more than an endless repetition of intent. No one event or decision mattered, because intent was in everything and it was in every action, every minute, every hour, every day. Simply, what did I really have in my heart, love, fear, revenge, greed? When I got to the seventh of my main intents the honesty was too much and I wanted scream and wake, but dead people don’t wake.

My body was pulled out of the water, laid on the ground, someone kissed me with air, someone pounded my chest. And then there was air, and there was intense pain, like I have never known. I was back, but on fire.

PS - This is simply something I experienced, I make no claim beyond the fact that it cut me down to size and introduced me to myself, and compassion.

Sally Lightfoot crabs are rumoured to have been named after a Caribbean dancer, due to their agility in jumping from rock to rock, their ability to run in four directions and their capacity to climb up vertical slopes. This extreme agility makes them very difficult to catch.

They are brightly-coloured coastal scavengers, found in the Galapagos Islands and across the western coast of South and Central America. They have an extremely generalist diet, feeding on anything from sea lion placenta to other crabs. This makes them an important part of the ecosystem, as they provide services such as keeping the shore clean of any organic debris and eating ticks off marine iguanas. . Adult crabs show characteristic intense blue and red colouring on their shells, with a white or pale blue underbelly. Younger crabs have darker colouration with red spots, providing a higher degree of camouflage. Every time the crabs moult their shell, the spots become gradually larger, until they obtain the adult colouring.

Female Sally Lightfoot crabs carry their eggs around with them on their stomachs until they hatch into the water. The larvae then swim out to deeper waters, where they consume phytoplankton and undergo a rapid series of moults. Eventually they undergo metamorphosis to become juvenile crabs and swim to shore, where they start to scavenge, becoming bigger and more colourful with each moult. These juveniles tend to travel in large groups until they reach maturity, after which they become largely solitary when not mating. When they are not mating or feeding, the crabs spend their time hiding in cracks in rocks. If they are disturbed, they may spray water or shed one of their legs as a defence mechanism.

Their scientific name is Grapsus grapsus.

ENG: Swallowed in the stomach of the Berlin underground. ☻ So beautifully empty it can also be sometimes with the public transport in the capital. Unusual but real. So you can test the new wide-angle function of the iPhone at your leisure.

Layed on my Stomach,to get this shot

6 o'clock in the morning. The sun was rising quickly filling the sky with a deep golden glow. I wasn't the only one enjoying that moment as a beautiful male pheasant stepped into the scene.

I know what a pheasant invariably does on a beautiful may morning; making his presence known to all the ladies in the neighborhood, by calling and flapping his wings.

So I went down on my stomach in the wet grass and just waited.. And they never disappoint, do they :-).

A bit of a hurried capture as this was one of those fleeting moments of light you almost miss because you weren't expecting it.

I was actually packing up and heading back to the car at this point having given up hope of seeing anymore light and with a stomach wanting breakfast - a minute earlier the big bank of cloud in this direction was showing no signs of breaking and indeed was being added to by cloud overhead rushing to join it.

I only noticed it becasue I dropped my filter holder whilst putting it away, causing me to shift round slightly and I had about a minute to compose, focus and fire off a couple of shots before the cloud took over again. Sometimes being clumsy is helpful!

Ever since my wife and I found out we were going to have a child, I have been noticing some changes. All the books say your belly does get bigger during the second trimester.

Tonight my stomach hurts.

This swing ride(name unknown to me, i didn`t bother to look) spins the chairs around at a pretty quick clip and if i sat in one it would be vomit time for me. As it was though the people enjoyed it screaming their heads off. (This festival is in a parking lot behind the Tri County Flea Market along Hempstead Tpke, the surrounding streetlights and buildings were unavoidable.) Unlike the fair at the Nassau Coliseum, which i got kicked out of a couple years back i was allowed to walk around shooting away here. Heck, one of the security guards even had a sense of humor! ;)

Tucked away from the street crowds, she is probably thinking just how awful the wrong fair food can be. She'll throw whatever that was in the garbage when she's given her stomach a rest, and she's done pondering.

There I was...on my stomach in my mother inlaw's huge flower garden...trying to find some new stuff...then I saw this in my view finder...and fell in love with it.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Arguably the best way to see Vegas if you don't mind teeter-tottering 27 feet over the edge, and if you have the stomach for it.

Butterflies in my stomach made this moment even more surreal. The warm evening wind skimmed along my face as the colors mixed and exploded between the sky, ground, road and grass; as paint on a palette of an almost finished painting. They were so vivid and all over the place that my mind struggled to comprehend the view in front of me. Only the artist knew the place for everything. I was just a passer by.
