The Ed Sullivan Theater, on Broadway between 53rd and 54th Streets, was designed by Herbert J. Krapp and opened in 1927, as Hammerstein's Theatre. In 1993, the theater became the home of the Late Show with David Letterman, and in 2015, of its successor, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
