Caught in the act! A nimble squirrel dashes through the thatched roof of a hut, clutching its well-earned prize. With eyes wide in determination, it vanishes into the shadows—nature’s own master thief at work.

2024 has just started and the CSI Team in little world already got their 1st case !

One prisoner actually managed to break out on New Year's Eve. The CSI team has started to secure evidence and, according to initial findings, the escapee must have had support from the criminal milieu.

I love getting shots of the loons like this one. When they see a grebe, duck, etc., infringing on their territory, they will flatten out on the water and start stalking them. When they get close enough, they submerge and attack from under water.

This shot has been cropped some to help show off the beauty of the loon.

Weird note found at the entrance to the castle's underground complex.

Unfamiliar script, probably a coded message. See annex for full transcription.

Minor damage on first floor, no body found.

Security reinforcements recommended.

Okay, I just got home from my whirlwind road trip with Zeb where we traveled from Washington, through Oregon, down to California and back in 6 days. We got a ton of great images but more importantly I had the honor and pleasure of meeting and shooting with some of California's finest photographers and just all around great people. Our first day in San Francisco I met up with the two classiest girls in Cali, Lisa & Dawn as well as a small army of Cali's Finest, Rich, Jave, James, Ian, Alan and 2 others... Dave (I couldn't find you to link) and one other gentlemen who's name I have forgotten (it was a long ride home).

After meeting up and having some great laughs over dinner when hopped into the blacked out SUV's and put Operation Bluebird into motion. After getting the run down on just how we were going to need to break the law to get this shot (little did my friends know I am a seasoned veteran :0) we rolled across the Bay Bridge to Treasure Island and proceeded to pile out of the cars and disappear into the trees to wait for the cover of darkness to get this shot. Ever since I first saw this shot I have wanted it and even tried to get here once on my own with no knowledge of the area and broke a brand new $650 lens in the process. This time, with the help of the Cali Connection I was able to get in ~ Get out ~ and get the shot ~ without getting arrested...again. :)

MUCH LOVE to the Cali Crew!!! You guys were as much fun as the shooting itself and I laughed so hard I actually have sunburned laugh lines on both sides of my eyes. You guys are welcome anytime anyplace and have a personal tour guide anytime you hit Oregon or Washington.

Please jump over and spend some time looking through the images from these photogs. You will be glad you did. I brought 20 GB of images back with me so get ready to follow me along on my journey for the next couple weeks. Now it is time to get to bed!

This slug crawled out of one pond and then entered the water in a second one. It slid easily into the water in stealth mode. Is this the true origin of the Loch Ness Monster?

Slinking Coyote (Canis latrans) with a prairie dog in its sights. Image taken in Wind Cave National Park of South Dakota.

Nothing like keeping a low profile is there! Bush Stone Curlews, Burhinus grallarius, often stand like statues during the day blending into the foliage. However when they do move it is often in this 'rigid stealth mode' - slowly, quietly, and ready to fly away fast if all else fails. This family group unexpectedly came to do a brief backyard inspection. They're more active at night, and have a loud mournful cry. Size 54 - 59cm.

Unconfirmed reports of a head poking above the leaf line. Local stick denies involvement. Lizard refuses to comment.

Playing Bee Gees "Stayin' alive".

But maybe this time next year.....

Yes you!! my beautiful little rabbit called Cuddles takes great pride in her daily hopping from plant pot to plant pot to eat anything and everything that is left and vaguely alive.

I crept up to her in stealth mode with my camera and crouched behind the big plant pot she was merrily munching in to capture this moment as her head popped up with surprise to see me and the camera lens up her nose once again, normally when this happens I don't get her long ears in the shot so I was happy with this one for a change.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone and thank you in advance for your visits, faves and comments it;s always so very much appreciated! :-))

Typical scene : A teenager is supposed to babysit her younger brother but tells him to play video games while she invites people over. Unfortunately, their parents are back early which sets in motion a series of events.

As soon as the dog starts barking, the teenagers sneak out the back. They wait for the parents to enter before leaving the premises. Meanwhile, the sister urges her brother to run upstairs and get to bed. That's when he learned why his parents always ask him to put away his roller skates. Will they both get grounded?

Something I found cleaning up my harddisk. It's from the big FKK Flickr-Meeting on 26.01.2008 at Allerheiligen falls.

Deep in the Yucatán jungle, this elusive predator watches in silence. You don’t find a puma. It finds you. Captured through layers of foliage, this shot freezes a rare moment of raw nature — alert, still, and completely wild.

I recently relocated a few more creatures, I mean toys, from home to the office...

Can you see me now? I didn't think so. Got bugs?

That morning, we noticed a second gecko in the house and started looking around. Without trying too hard, we counted four. And that was in the house.

October 31: Visiting a new (to us) national park; strolling a miniature Hawaii/theme park; preparing to leave the island.

Actually I may be being unfair to her for no reason.... maybe it isn't gossip, maybe it's an erudite soliloquy on philosophy. No real idea as I was taking this in stealth mode from 20 yeards away while she was sitting in the smokers section of Starbucks

Since we arrived home from surgery, which included the surprise extraction of 14 teeth and a spay, Fannie has suffered a long, depressing spell where every breath is accompanied by a whimper or a sad little weak howl. She's also been struggling to get a neck cone off. She finally got some much-needed sleep for an hour or so, as did I. A few minutes ago she was able to get up and take a few slow steps and came to sit next to me, wagging her tail. Right now we are in the figuring-out-what-Fannie- wants stage. Food? Water? Walk? Chat?

Two little household kitties have been playing the role of bitchy schoolgirls, taking turns standing in the doorway, backs arched and hair standing up, tails flicking, and making little "what the fuck is THAT!?" noises before dashing off in outrage. FrankenFannie doesn't seem to mind. Black kitty has been periodically creeping in with maximum black panther stealthmode to come up behind FrankenFannie and smell her cone and then go stampeding off in horror.

I am glad the period of unbearable agony has passed; we now seem to be entering the period of awkward comedy.
