Statuette of Mars Cobannus, Gallo-Roman, A.D. 125-175
The statue is dressed as a Roman legionnaire in the second century, A.D and is dedicated to Cobannus, a Gallic god associated with Mars, the god of war. The Getty is slightly hesitant about its origins, suggesting it was found in France, in the Roman province of Gaul and would have been displayed in a local shrine of the Iuventus, a Roman youth organization.
Roman, made in Egypt, 100-1 BC, Alabaster
As the goddess of beauty, Venus was often depicted at her toilette: bathing, putting on jewelry, looking at herself in a mirror, or as shown here, tying a ribbon in her hair. This pose is a variation of a popular image of the goddess wringing water from her hair - an allusion to her legendary birth from the sea.
We felt we were being spied on as we walked down the garden path yesterday . At this point , Pixie looks disappointed that she's blown her cover as a statuette . However she kept the pose just long enough for me get a camera from indoors and snap this !

No matter how long the winter with its beautiful holidays lasts, all the same, each of us, deep down, is waiting for summer. I don’t think that I will be more original in creating my creations than all that numerous pool of gift sets, decor, Christmas decorations, food and jewelry that I created for my grateful clients for Thanksgiving and Christmas. All this has already found life in SL.
So I decided not to do these things on my behalf and give you all a little piece of summer in the winter cold.
Based off of IW's life-size Ghost statue. Not much, but at least I'm back to uploading my work.
This is also the first photo I've taken with my brand-new Thnkgeek portable lighting studio!

While watching the live broadcast of 2020 Oscars this morning, I realized my yellow brick box was just lying across the table, so I did a little challenge for myself and tried to recreate the iconic Oscar Statuette before the show ends. Spent around an hour or so on it in the end, not bad for a quick exercise!😛
P.S. Yes I did go lazy and reused the base from the Avengers Tower promo, as most of my black curves have been taken up currently by another MOC I am working on...
