Startup Pitch Night Recap ✨🏆

Pascal Brunner, CEO of Vatorex, delivered a compelling pitch that resonated with the jury and secured the win. Congratulations, Pascal!
Our jury consisted of Maggie Fried, Vice President, Corporate Development of S2G Ventures, Máire P. Walsh, CEO and Managing Partner of Belayer, and Matthieu Soulé, head of BNP Paribas innovation lab in San Francisco, who generously lent their expertise and asked critical questions.
💰 Maggie asked questions such as: How do you make money? How does your product compare to competitors? She also shared how impressed she was at how much traction these early stage startups already have.
📈 Máire was curious to hear more about business models, clients and users as well as why in the world a startup would ask for such little money, when their future seemed so promising. She concluded by appreciating European innovation in the climate-sector and their collaboration with Silicon Valley actors.
⏳Matthieu wondered: How long will it take to build something to scale? How long does it take to go from signed contract to implementation? Why don’t you scale faster? He complimented our participants on recognizing and seizing the opportunities that are available to promotion startups in and around the Bay Area.
🎭 Before the startups pitched their ideas to the judges, the Ombligo project performed OMBLIGO II. The Ombligo project, consisting of Faults (Jorge Bachmann, Jarcoba, Kevin Corcoran, Gabby Wen), Pei-Ling Kao, and Andrej Hronco. Their performance exemplified the vision we have for our pitch nights. They transcend startup promotion and strive to be a collective ideation moment, inspiring curiosity for future endeavors that might shape the world we live in. With the art performance to open the pitch night, we showcase the seamless blend of artistry and technology, underlining the synergy of innovation across all domains.
