A potentiometer controls a servo motor so you can set a display to show what mood you're in. I had to modify the pot to stick in the breadboard better.

This project uses three photoresistors (light sensors) covered with RGB gels to detect how much and what color of light is coming in, then decide what color and intensity to display on an RGB LED in response. This was fun to play with using my RGBLED lightbulb that can do a bunch of colors.
It was obviously not going to work as shown in the book picture because they show the potentiometer (the white knob) taking up 2 spaces on the left half of the board, and it totally doesn't fit. Later I added jumpers to cross the divide and allow the knob to be placed on the right side, and added legs to it so it stuck in right. It also helped to secure the servo to something so it doesn't fall over. You can see my workaround in the video I posted of project 05.
