Not 'Santa Loucheeah' as the Neapolitan song goes, just Snt-Loosha ;)

This lovely fishing village lies on a small bay with a headland at each end. Anse la Raye is on the Caribbean (western) side of the island between Castries and Soufriere. The town has a fish fry, "jump up" (street party) every Friday night along Front Street, the street closest to the bay. There are food and drink vendors along the street and a large bank of speakers at each end pumping out mostly Caribbean dance music, though the DJs will mix in lots of different sounds. The food vendors sell mostly seafood of course, charbroiled fish, lobster and lambi (conch). On the beach in the foreground, you can see a line of fishing boats pulled up on the sand, they lie in front of the fisherman's coop where you can come buy fresh caught fish. After you pick the fish you want, the sellers will clean and wrap them for you.
