Went downtown with my camera recently. This was the first photo I took. After that I messed up my iso settings, I couldn’t see in the dark, my fingers didn’t work in the cold, and I came home with a mess of failed attempts. But darn it…it sure was fun trying and I just loved being out there, rain and all. So this is it, my one and only photo of that evening and it just happened to have one of my weird obsessions, rope. :-)
Not like me to post animals. I don't know why I don't but I guess it's just not what I gravitate toward when I have a camera in hand. I enjoyed the time at the farm though and the opportunity to capture some of it residents. This little guy was curious about what I was up to while I was admiring the rare moment of sunshine that landed perfectly on his face and of course....the wooden fence. :-)
Hello everyone! I know we are all busy with the holidays and work and life. Sometimes a break is needed. I plan on disappearing until I can get out shooting again and have the capacity to spend some quality time enjoying Flickr for what it is. I just wanted to wish you all a wonderful holiday season focused on what’s important to you. Take care all!!!
I was there for a party at the chalet but I used my time wisely and ran around taking photos of the animals. My youngest daughter is smitten with birds of all sorts. This one was for her.
We are definitely getting one and nothing makes me happier! Now we're just crossing our fingers that Santa can find his way through the snow!
We had returned to St John's, NL for the end of our trip before the trip home. This evening shoot almost caught us off guard. Fog generally occurs in the morning but one just never knows when on the east coast. Only a very high ridge remained out of the fog and I stood on the side of the highway to get this shot. It led down to the coastal area where we were looking for our next subject; yes, a lighthouse.
St John's, a city on Newfoundland island off Canada's Atlantic coast, is the capital of Newfoundland and Labrador province. Its harbour was settled by the British in the 1600s. The Narrows is the name for the "narrow opening" into the harbour in the city
I’m glad we made a quick trip up Signal Hill even though it was a rainy day. We got back to our car just as it started to sprinkle. The view was amazing!

One of the many sea going ships sets out to sea from the St John's, NL harbour only a few thousand yards from his current position. This outlet was taken from high above and beside the building at Signal Hill from the previous shot. Early morning for these gents and off to do a job on calm waters.
Sandwiched in like the holds of fish they catch, I could imagine hearing these moored boats squirming, as they jostled for position

For Windows Wednesday, an inside view of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist in St. John's Newfoundland.
Around the neighbourhood. Two days clearing the snow and now we are getting another 10-20 cm tonight before changing to rain. Should be fun in the morning!
When we were back in St John's, NL we trotted about visiting and exploring. Down toward the coast we came across this almost lonely looking iceberg that had drifted in toward shore. Surrounded by fog, it sat right in the middle of the area, so in the middle of the shot he went.
