A barn from the 1830s at the Latvian Ethnographic Museum.
Built in the 1830s in the village of Oglenieki, acquired by the Ethnographic Museum in 1936, and reconstructed in 1969.
Such single space structures with an open porch were common in 19th century Latgalia (a predominantly Catholic region in northeast Latvia). It is erected on a base of boulders to ensure proper ventilation and dryness.
On May Day...sorry...make that "Spring Day" they put up all these Estonian flags on all the streets.
