Driving into the sunset. Pic taken from along Monterey Rd in San Jose, CA. I was with my cousin Gretchen at the time. We had just came from eating our early dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. It was feeling like summer this day with afternoon highs reaching into the warm upper 80's for our area! The next couple days were forecast to get into the lower 90's, ahhh! It was potentially to be the warmest temps so far this year. A high-pressure buildup was to push air downward, causing the rise in temps and may also cause the air to be smoggier than usual. But the heat wave wasn't expected to create a Spare the Air alert. The hot weather also was expected to dry out more vegetation that has been starved of water because of the current statewide drought. Those areas will be more susceptible to fire...
