Spring Frost on the railway tracks and roofs of houses. It doesn't last long at this time of year but my fingers hurt all the same.
The weather is definitely more "frost" than "spring" over here in Germany but I still get to enjoy this beautiful Salon gown snd I think it goess well with Chinchilla's silver/icy look! ;)

American Conifer Society: Picea orientalis 'Spring Frost' is a broad-upright growing selection of Oriental spruce which, in the spring, will flush with lemon yellow new foliage that matures to dark green by summer. The plant does not appear to be affected by full sun. After 10 years of growth, a specimen will be considered to be mature at 6 feet (2 m) tall and 4 feet (60 cm) wide.
The origin of the cultivar is unknown at this time, but appears to have been introduced to the nursery trade by Larry Stanley & Sons nursery, Boring, Oregon.
Stanley & Sons Nursery: A dwarf, upright Oriental Spruce that has lemon-yellow new growth in spring. Leaves turn back to a rich green with no burn. Only grows about 4-6 inches a year.

two sprouts at one vine; one sprout was damaged by spring frost, the other wasn't. It is questionable if the green one will ever get ripe.

Each Spring, there is at least one occasion when this rather desolate poem is appropriate. In 2002, an early heat wave in April called forth all the flowers way too soon. Heavy frost is normal here in April, and the flowers were bound to suffer. These heat waves end with the arrival of a cold front. The approaching cold air causes rain, and then the skies clear and the temperature falls drastically.
This year, the flowers were somewhat late, but so is the frosty night that is forecast for tonight. Tomorrow, we'll see what damage was done...it's surprising how well trees and flowers survive these frosts.

the journey of shooting in full manual mode with a point and shoot camera... why? it's more then just one needs to start somewhere. there is a certain quality I like with the grainy noise. the oak leaf is one of my favorite subjects...

the crazy, wacky, warm spring has brought out the peach tree blossoms mighty early this year which bums me out after The Transformative Power of A Real Peach ( and a little heavy whipping cream ) last year.
the first or second week of may is the official average last spring frost date in southwest wisconsin but many locals consider memorial day weekend to be the date when it's finally safe.
so, chances are we'll have a few more hard frosts between now and then. will The Delicate Peach Blossoms survive?
