Forgive me, I couldn't help myself. I know that Flickr is currently flooded with approximately 25 million shots of pear blossoms and other blossoming wonders. It really doesn't need my 16 shots added to that, I'm sure, and mine are, overall, probably about of average quality. But I couldn't help myself!
We're finally having some lovely weather. The bigger, older, wiser trees, bred in this climate, are still mostly naked. They know how treacherous Missouri weather can be in April! But the Pear Trees, and the Forsythia and other blossoming things, have sprung into joyous, optimistic bloom, and they're SO lovely and we're SO hungry for them!
Every year, when they bloom, we all hold our collective breath and pray that we don't get a hard frost that will kill them. We came close a night or two but they all seem to have survived beautifully, and we're hoping maybe we're out of danger now.
Anyway, yesterday I went on a walk around the neighborhood with the camera, and here were all these lovely blossoming Pear Trees, Forsythia, etc. So I couldn't help myself, here are my 16 offerings, culled from the insane number of pictures I took. Blame it on SPRING FEVER!!!
