172 332 trundles towards Spring Road station with the 10.26 Stratford-upon-Avon to Stourbridge Junction. The train is about to enter the concrete tunnel spanning the tracks, this unfortunate construction was a two storey car park for the adjoining Joseph Lucas Lamp factory at Shaftmoor Lane. After being stripped of it's assets by the new Japanese owners the factory was closed and later demolished, the empty useless carpark now is the only part that survives.

Slender Speedwell, a groundcover with very tiny but beautiful flowers growing in a corner of my backyard garden.
I've been busy doing Spring chores, but here's one from a Swamp Maple in the back yard. I love the splash of color these give to the woods before everything turns green.

I was asked to photograph a friend's Springer Spaniel today. She's only one year old, but was very well behaved. I'm still experimenting with how best to process the images. This is my first attempt.
It snowed on the first day of spring in Maryland, but the temperature wasn't cold enough and the snow turned into rain.
I went back to Bear Lake again today to photograph the spring ice breakup with a group from our camera club. The overcast sky opened up just long enough for a few good shots.
Walking around in the nice weather today I came upon a large field of hepaticas on a wooded hill. Nature is really springing into life here in Sweden.... finally
Spring is for repotting the little trees. I often use instant photos (and my phone) to document the process.
This is an elm, formerly part of a Saikei planting I did in the Summer of 2019. Other than some pruning and weeding I had not done much with it. It was not looking good and I thought it might be dead. I repotted it in early March (7th) and moved it into the plant room for recovery. It had spent the entire winter outdoors. It has responded quickly and vigorously.
The pot is not right for it, I find it too robust, but it is what I had and I needed to give the roots some space.
The film is Fuji Instax Mini, there was some sort of damage which may have been the result of some kind of pressure applied to the pack as it was placed in the camera. This is the first piece of film and the subsequent ones did not have similar "fault." I like the effect and may try to induce something similar in the future.

The brick houses here comprise Axleton, built for workers of the Liggett Spring and Axle Company. Today, I've heard this area more often referred to as East Monongahela. While this area has a Monongahela address (being on a postal route for the Monongahela Post Office), it is physically located at the southern tip of Allegheny County in Forward Township.

Every year it's the same but I think I'll never get used to the long, grey, dark and wet Dutch winters. They are simply too long! How I envy those of you who are living in the warmer regions of the earth..
Well, at least the snowdrops are blooming already. The daffodils will follow soon, I hope.
It's not a very good season for outdoor animal photography either. That roe deer buck I see every day with his antlers still covered in velvety skin has been pulling long noses at me, every time I tried to capture him. I hope I still have a week left before he'll start wiping the velvet off. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Last weekend I had put up the blind in the garden. This little Spring Harbinger made me forget the cold for a while. The brown dead leaves of the beech hedge made for a wonderful warm background. I can totally relate to his longing look at the skies.. :-)

My neighbor’s dogwood tree, which I’m claiming part stewardship of since a significant branch (the one photographed here) overhangs my property. This past spring the tree suffered a severe crack to one of its main stems, the result of a late snowfall. I repaired the wound with ratchet straps and bandage. So far so good, the damaged branch appears to be fusing back together and the foliage looks no different than that of the other main stems.

Yesterday, was a wonderful sunny day for the Spring Equinox! I had to get out to see what was blooming and found these frilly yellow trumpeters of spring in my side yard. :-D These warm my heart.
