A member of the Argentina national team flopped up on the deck and just needed to take a moment before getting up.

A stand-up-paddle boarder hitting a wall of wave at Carlton Beach, Tasmania.

In the Florida Keys at Islamorda there was so much wind. Only Kitesurfing was possible.

It is a crop from a picture with a telephoto lens. The Canon 5DSR and the EF100-400mm II is a great combination

Another panning shot taken at Goodwood, this time of the rather nice looking Maserati Tipo 4CM 1500 (S/N 1527) of Simon Edwards.

When the 4CM was first introduced in 1931, it used an 1100cc engine, and was Maserati's first racing car (although they use the word voiturette, meaning cart).

Built alongside the 4CS two-seater sports-racer, the 4CM monoposto was powered by the aforementioned 1100cc twin-overhead-camshaft supercharged ‘four’ that produced 125bhp at 6,600rpm.

Many of the cars were converted to 1500cc, this required new cylinder block, pistons, connecting rods and supercharger to be fitted but meant the cars top speed was raised to over 140mph.

It is noted that one of the Maserati 4CM’s main characteristics was its braking system, with hydraulically operated brakes that provided better control of braking and thus improved the car’s racing performance.

Apparently Maserati sold quite a few 4CM and 6CM cars in 1934 and 1935, but hit problems when Italy and the Ethopian Empire went to war with one another (known as the Second Italo-Ethiopian War, October 1935 to May 1936).

Shot of the 575M GTC Evo as it rolled down the pit lane at Silverstone.

The 575M came about due to the success the Prodrive developed 550 saw in GT racing in 2001. Ferrari, who at that point had turned its back on GT racing to concentrate on F1, suddenly realised that there was a good marketing platform in the GT series.

Ferrari outsourced the development of the 575M to N-Technology, where a flat under body, diffuser and splitter were fitted in line with the FIA regulations.

Friday appears to have come around once more, which means its time to post another shot of the Breadvan to take us into a long bank holiday weekend.

This is perhaps my favourite shots of this Ferrari 250 to date, I like the way the curves of those front arches look so exaggerated from this point of view, and the glimpse into the cockpit and that yellow stripe on the steering wheel that offers a small hint that this car may sometimes need the driver to orientate himself back to the straight ahead position.

I almost threw away this file, then I thought I'd see what it looked like with a bit of tilt-shift, and voilà... a whole different shot emerged. A new recent personal best, I think.

it was one of those days where it really didnt matter where you went; the roads and the buildings and the wind had become entirely irrelevant. you were internally present, and that was that. your environment had no power over you, and that in itself was extremely empowering. the whole world could touch you, see you, and move you. but your head... that was all yours.

Another assembly road shot, this time of the Scuderia del Viadotto Ferrari 330 GTO (chassis 4561SA) driven by Lukas Huni and Carlo Vogele.

This car was built for Michel-Paul Cavallier, a French industrialist and Ferrari board member. This particular 330 is built on a 400 SuperAmerica chassis, and wasn't raced by its then owner.
