Our Landy was almost 30 years old. I had installed a new engine and many other new parts - but it was still an old car. There have been many repairs - very many repairs. Again and again I looked for spare parts on african junkyards. So I made a lot of interesting acquaintances. And then i worked... worked through all Africa - allways fighting against the dirt in the mechanics and on myself.

Heute habe ich ein altes Multifunktionsgerät zerlegt und viele neue Fotoobjekte gewonnen. Jetzt muss erst einmal sortiert werden.

Located on the backroads of the near ghost town of Goldfield,NV. was this fascinating collection of spare vintage auto and truck parts.I'm guessing they are 1920-30s era,and there was a lot of them.And in that hot and dry air,they will last forever...
I'll put this in the truck Thursday group-there has got to the makings of a pretty nice truck there somewhere! HTT everyone!

Na ons geslaagde verblijf in Winningen trokken we op 31 mei 2023 terug naar het Rijndal. Er moest namelijk nog een foto gemaakt worden van de IC 118 vanuit Innsbruck richting Dortmund.
Maar vooraleer deze IC doorkwam kregen we eerst nog een paar andere treinen te verwerken, waaronder deze volledige rode Traxx, die bij navraag voor ecco rail blijkt te rijden.
Sinds december 2022 rijdt deze firma namelijk de onderdelentrein voor Audi vanuit Heilbronn tot Aachen-West, waar DB Cargo dan de trein overneemt voor de verdere rit richting Ruisbroek/België.
[M] Een storende schaduw van de bovenleidingspaal werd op de loc verwijderd.

On Wednesday the 31th of May we left the Mosel valley soon after having photographed the mixed freight train from Gremberg to Saarbrücken.
We returned to the valley of the Rhine, keen to make our very last picture of IC 118 Innsbruck - Dortmund.
As location we chose Brey, where we got some other trains before the arrival of this InterCity, amongst them this ecco rail hauled train from Heilbronn towards Aachen West with Audi spareparts.
If someone knows the train number, please feel free to add it in the comments.

A perfect day to be outside and explore Cardinal's famed Boneyard. This 1950 Chrysler Desoto Custom was weathered and worn, but was very fun to photograph.

Yesterday I sold my old car as a spare parts warehouse and met this location. Good, that I always have a camera with me. I had hoped for some photos of rusty parts but my expectations were exceeded.
Thru the rear window.
Old Fargo's never die they are simply salvaged and turned into garden ornaments.
In its previous life it had been a service vehicle delivering spare parts to a variety of repairers.
Like everything age caught up the the old Fargo and the time came when it too was deemed to be redundant.
The most likely scenario was that it would end up in a wrecking yard where it would spend its days either rusting or maybe face the crusher and be melted down to return to the road as a recycled small Japanese sedan.
Instead it was rescued and today serves as a garden ornament.
Well it is more original than the otherwise obligatory garden gnome.

A huge car cemetery with over 10.000 old cars stored on 6 levels in different aisles on high shelves. They serve as spare parts or are scrapped.
I saw these walls and thought how many stories store here.

One of the many dangerous mutated Rahi skulking around the ocean floor, the Pit Mantis Shrimp is often looking for a fight. Especially with any rivals that can put up a good boxing match like the Tarakava or Keras. Though usually seen alone, some Matoran report seeing what looks like an organized tournament between these Rahi for, seemingly, who is the best fighter. Why this is done or what victory means is unknown.
Built for the Spare Part community’s challenge Shopping Spree. We were given a list of sets, prices, and an imaginary $100 budget to spend in order to build something out of the combination. But regardless of how much you spent within that $100, you were always guaranteed a GWP 2006 Good Guy.
For my build, I purchased 4 Takadox sets, 2 Chirox sets, 1 Cendox, 1 Defilak, and of course the GWP Good Guy for a total of $85.

Nothing new under the sun and maybe someone might find this "tip" useful. This is a Canon FT that I bought from a seller who had it listed as broken (the shutter release was jammed) so I bought it very cheap and I was going to use it for spareparts. After removing the bottomplate it turned out that the shutter mechanism was stuck so, now it works fine and I guess this camera has been used as an educational camera or similar since it has a lot of scuffs and also text on the bottomplate. Anyway - since it works again, it will not be used for spareparts but I will clean it and make it as fit as possible again so, for example: Shutter speed dial. To re-paint numbers I use Revell (or Humbrol, same thing) Enamel Color, a toothpick and some isopropyl alcohol to remove the leftover paint. It is not 100% perfect but at least it makes it possible to read it again. Cheers!

Withdrawn Manchester/Bury Class 504 1200vDC units at Croxley depot, in the late 1970s.
These had been transferred south, to be cannibalised and provide spares for the Euston-Watford suburban Class 501 units, seen on the right.
The Class 504s had all gone by 1991, but one 2-car unit has survived, at the East Lancashire Railway.
The Class 501s were withdrawn from passenger service in the mid-80s, and some were converted for departmental use, and as bettery-electric loco units.. Two cars were preserved, at the Electric Railway Museum, Coventry, but have now moved to a private site at Finmere Station, after the ERM closed down in 2017.
Croxley depot closed down in 1985, and today (2018) the site is occupied by a business park.
