If you like to gamble, I tell you I'm your man,
You win some, lose some, it's all the same to me,
The pleasure is to play, makes no difference what you say,
I don't share your greed, the only card I need is
The Ace Of Spades
Playing for the high one, dancing with the devil,
Going with the flow, it's all a game to me,
Seven or Eleven, snake eyes watching you,
Double up or quit, double stake or split,
The Ace Of Spades
You know I'm born to lose, and gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby,
I don't wanna live forever,
And don't forget the joker!
Pushing up the ante, I know you got to see me,
Read 'em and weep, the dead man's hand again,
I see it in your eyes, take one look and die,
The only thing you see, you know it's gonna be,
The Ace Of Spades
Macro Mondays theme: card
The Ace card measures 1 inch across. Entire image is less than 3”. Is it unlucky to be upside-down ?
Thank you everyone for your kind comments and favs. They are all greatly appreciated.
I'm not a great Motorhead fan. But one of my favourite bands, Del Amitri always performed a cover of this song in their live show.

A little more Saturday morning playtime on my second cup of raktajino before I have to get serious and get some real life done.
Obviously an old beloved spade, pebble off the beach and driftwood at a fisherman's cottage in Newton by the Sea, Northumberland. Lovely memories for someone...or perhaps just the spoils of an old beachcomber! :))
I think the driftwood looks like a fish...very apt!

KCS 3942, 3940, and 3903 are in charge of 2GPS-31 as they finally get the go ahead from UP to cross the 5th Street plant. Aside from UP's stab, this lowly ballast train made some really good time over the road.
The day before, I saw a post about this train heading south on the Marquette Sub and surmised they would be south of the Quads the next morning. This was disappointing, but I was going to head that way the next day regardless. However, before departing in the morning I made a point to check a couple of the rail cams and noted that the ballast train hadn't left Marquette yet. Hmmmm.
Since we had no solid intel though, we initially set our sights on intercepting 253 somewhere south of Clinton. But while monitoring the radio feed near Marquette, we heard that a ballast train had backed out and would meet K39 at Eckards. Bingo.
We picked them up north of Dubuque and a 150 mile chase ensued, finally ending around Letts. The cards were actually in our favor for once and it's days like these keep the addiction going.
What caught my eye here was way down in the center of the squares was almost a dark cloaked figure or the shape of the suit of spades.
I know, I know sue me. I know I've been super duper inactive, but I'm not going into the lame apology thing because it's my holiday and I have all the rights to be relaxed not thinking of schedules and I've said that I wouldn't be 100% here and flickr for a period of time (at least until mid Aug).
I have never intended to upload this picture, It was taken in April so that you can see how long it has been :)
This was so made so quick but I ended up loving the result! Nice use of the Ace of Spades sticker don'tyou think ;)

View across the Ohio River from Spade Marina in Bromley, Kentucky. Consolidated Grain and Barge Company's Riverside Terminal in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mile mark 474.4 from the Ohio River confluence at Cairo.
While out scouting during the recent heavy fog I discovered this tree and was immediately taken by it's beautiful symmetry and due to the thick mist I was able to isolate it from any distracting background. I hope you enjoy the image.
As always any comments, thoughts or critiques are much appreciated
