Ces blockhaus ont été construits lors de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale. Heureusement, ceux-ci n'ont jamais servi. À l'époque, ils étaient enfouis sous la dune, assez loin de l'océan. Aujourd'hui, les blockhaus sont largement visible car l'océan continue inlassablement son travail d'érosion sur la côte.

Gordes is a quaint and picturesque town in the Vaucluse département of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France. It is one of the biggest communes of the area with 4,804 hectares and possibly one of the most photographed villages of the region. Hope this photo does it justice.
L'Île Embiez ou Paul Ricard et son panorama - Var - Côte d'Azur France -
Dans les années 50, Paul Ricard acquiert les îles de Bendor et des Embiez. Sa volonté ? Les faire partager au plus grand nombre pour des vacances en famille, entre amis, des moments conviviaux, les îles sont une invitation à un monde à part.
Réputée pour sa nature verdoyante, ses criques, ses calanques sauvages, ses rochers sculptés par la mer et ses fonds sous-marins limpides, l’île des Embiez est une île familiale par excellence. Préservée du béton, la circulation automobile y est très limitée.
Sur ses 95 hectares vivent plus de trois cents espèces à fleurs et à fruits, dont certaines espèces sauvages préservées : pins d’Alep, arbousiers, plantes grasses, vignes, fleurs, massifs et buissons… mais aussi chênes majestueux. Ainsi, l’île des Embiez possède à elle seule 90% des essences végétales méditerranéennes connues et est un véritable refuge pour les oiseaux selon la Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux. Cela lui a d’ailleurs valu d’être « éco-labélisée » Pavillon Bleu.
Membre du réseau européen Natura 2000, qui réunit plus de 1700 sites terrestres et marins français reconnus pour la rareté et la fragilité de leurs milieux naturels, l’Ile des Embiez s’est toujours engagée à protéger son environnement. Un sentier nature jonché de panneaux à thème (histoire, géologie, botanique, zoologie…) favorise la découverte de l’île et de sa nature environnante, à faire à pied ou à vélo.

Seillans is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France.
It is a ville perché (perched hill-top village) overlooking the plain between the southern Alps and the Esterel, which borders the sea between Cannes and Saint-Raphaël. It has been recognized by Les Plus Beaux Villages de France.
According to legend, buildings in Montpellier were not supposed to be built higher than this promenade, which lies about 52 meters above sea level. So you get this beautiful view of the countryside. Far away you can see the foothills of the Cevennes mountain range. And those trees in the foreground are quite intriguing.

The Papal palace is a historical palace located in Avignon, southern France. It is one of the largest and most important medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. Once a fortress and palace, the papal residence was the seat of Western Christianity during the 14th century. Six papal conclaves were held in the Palais, leading to the elections of Benedict XII in 1334, Clement VI in 1342, Innocent VI in 1352, Urban V in 1362, Gregory XI in 1370 and Antipope Benedict XIII in 1394.

Carcassonne is a fortified French town in the Aude department, of which it is the prefecture, in the Region of Occitanie.
Occupied since the Neolithic period, Carcassonne is located in the Aude plain between two major thoroughfares linking the Atlantic to the Mediterranean sea and the Massif Central to the Pyrénées. Its strategic importance was quickly recognized by the Romans who occupied its hilltop until the demise of the Western Roman Empire and was later taken over in the fifth century by the Visigoths who founded the city. Also thriving as a trading post due to its location, it saw many rulers who successively built up its fortifications, until its military significance was greatly reduced by the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659.
The city is famous for the Cité de Carcassonne, a medieval fortress restored by the theorist and architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in 1853 and added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1997.
