"Antiproton Source: To produce antiprotons, physicists steer proton beams onto a nickel target. The collisions produce a wide range of secondary particles, including many antiprotons. The aniprotons enter a beamline where beam operators capture and focus them before injecting them into a storage ring, where they are accumulated and cooled. Cooling the antiproton beam reduces its size and makes it very bright. After accumulating a sufficient number of antiprotons, beam operators send them to the Recycler for additional cooling and accumulation before they inject them into the Tevatron. "

On the nineteenth day of summer and just after 7pm the sun is in the right place to illuminate the loco but not the train, 66768 heads west on the Down with 6B92 Portbury Auto Terminal Gbf - Margam Tc Gbrf. This was not my first choice of a photography spot, wanted a different shot just down the line in full sun to the left of where I am here, but land owner turfed me off his 'private' land, so a quick choice was needed as this train was near. All is not lost, I have a shot of the same train to my right in full sun, it's thus an aim of looking for shots in different spots/locations.
The high trees on the left blocking the evening sun are on the boundary of a Golf Course, making an educated guess thus act as a block for flying golf balls, so no chance of them being topped to let more sun in here.

PEN Presents: “Secret Sources" brought together NSA whistleblower Thomas Drake, Jesselyn Radack of ExposeFacts' Whistleblower & Source Protection Program, New York Times reporter James Risen, and moderator Susan Glasser of Politico to debate the impact of the Obama administration’s aggressive pursuit of national security leaks on freedom of expression. The issue has gained unprecedented national attention following the 2013 revelations by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, who joined the event via Skype following the panel in a conversation with PEN Executive Director Suzanne Nossel on whistleblowing and questions of conscience.
This forum builds off of a new PEN report, Secret Sources: Whistleblowers, National Security, and Free Expression. PEN’s research demonstrates that gaps in existing protections for whistleblowers, failure to adequately address retaliation against them, and the Obama Administration’s use of the Espionage Act against leakers is damaging freedom of expression, press freedom, and access to information in the United States.

White Stork, Ciconia ciconia
Keur Siet, Senegal
Suddenly, while watching the Cattle Egrets at Keur Siet, which is a smaller river arm that branches from the enormous Baobolong, which is the biggest river branch out of the Gambia River, that extends into Senegal, we noticed several huge flocks of birds far away to the east. At first glance we thought that they were Greater Flamingos. As they moved closer, we thought they looked more like Great White Pelicans, but then it became obvious, that they were White Storks! They moved very slowly in a westernly direction and passed by us pretty close. We estimated there to be 2-4000 birds total in these flocks. They were very hard to count. I have never seen so many White Storks in my life. This was amazing.
The White Storks must be overwintering in this area and follow the food sources in a nomadic behaviour, as is the nature of these birds in their winter area. The food sources are probably located around the rivers. We heard later, that similar size flocks had been seen a week earlier on the North Bank of the Gambia River. They may have been the same birds, that we saw.
The White Stork has almost disappeared as a breeding species from Denmark. They are now almost only seen during the migration. White Stork are of red list category "least concern", although some populations are threatened due to habitat loss, like in my country Denmark, which is the most heavily agricultured country in the world. There is about 500k individuals of White Stork in Europe and Africa, that overwinter in Africa or are resident to Europe or Africa. I love these birds.
