Marlow lives his life with a soundtrack. For him when the music stops life loses its lustre...

Another wig change for Marlow... but I think we have a winner finally :D
by all time low :)
i made this on picnik and yepp, i have become...*cough* obsessed with all time low (again). i kinda forgot how sexy alex was and how good their music is XD sooo, ive been listening to them non stop for a while.... :) and me and my friend both agreed that we wanna go to a concert really REALLY badly. but that is probably neeeevver gonna happen (because of our parents. and of the fact that we're only 13 and "those concerts get intense" pfff.).

You can't say no forever
I stopped here to admire the landscape, a village embraced around the church bell tower, at the foot of a mountain.
Forest all around, silence absolute, broken only by the voice of the wind and a modulated and majestic melody, which intrigued me to the point of turning me a little to understand its origin.
In the end I found this sound source; a vertical hollow tube attached to the half wall of a house that supported the electric line.
The wind blowing sounded the pipe either directly, or causing vibrations to the electric wires that made the tube vibrate further, modulating the sounds in harmony.
A country with the soundtrack, never heard something like this before

Moorland areas such as this are one of the few places you can visit where you can hear total silence.... it has it's own soundtrack!
The image combines a series of panoramic shots I took whilst getting lost in the Dales, with a shot of a couple listening to a video exhibit in an art gallery.

What a great movie for its time....and a great song.....
- Motion City Soundtrack
I'm procrastinating right now. I have 3 big exams/papers this week, but I'm really sick of working on homework right now.
Today for work I had to edit 80 pictures. I don't know if you think that's a lot, but it's very boring to go through 180 photos, pick all the good ones, crop/straighten, and fix the lighting. I did that for 2 hours straight. Talk about extreme migraine.
film. sooc. text. i love fall.
Three Colours: Blue (1993), Three Colours: White (1994), and Three Colours: Red (1994).
A trilogy of films directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski, with musical scores by Zbigniew Preisner.
The second stop on my Copperas Creek Trail hike last Saturday was at the Copperas Creek Arches. These are a series of four small arches on the east side of the creek. Arch #2 is the only one of these arches large enough to walk through. There is a curve in the arch, so you cannot see through it. There is also a small, but tall, waterfall adjacent to the arches. The waterfall isn't very photogenic (too many trees in the way), but does offer a soothing background soundtrack while exploring the arches and having a snack.
Here is a view of Copperas Creek Arch #2 looking out from under the arch.

I wanted to post this image yesterday but was stumped on a title and I wanted a good one.
We were heading north from Wanaka to Glendhu Bay when we were stopped due to flooding across the road and could go no further.
We decided to sit on the edge of the bay and wait for sunset, along with another couple who provided a wonderful soundtrack from their portable sound system while watched the evening unfold.
As sunset almost finished, I saw Miss walking toward me with her pink top matching the clouds behind. It reminded me of a scene from a movie.
I think the image has a cinematic feel (at least that's what I was trying for) and that I get a sense of strength and cool confidence in the way the eye-roller is walking towards me.
Feel free to contribute a title or song that you think fits.
please, take some time to watch it as I wish it were watched...open it larger and let your eyes follow each line slowly, while listening to this...thanks.

'Eraserhead 1' (20"08 minutes)
'Eraserhead 2' (18:22 minutes)
Original soundtrack recording designed by David Lunch and Alan Splet. Featuring 'In Heaven (Lady In the Radiator song)' composed by Peter Ivers; lyrics by David Lynch
The cinematic image does not represent movement so muich as put images into motion, and when combined with sound and music, induces a simultaneous play of senses that results in a deeper, emotional response. David Lynch exploits the sonic dimension of film beyond the soundtrack by using range, pitch, volume and intonation of human and animal voices, industrial sounds (electric hum, and urban and domestic noise), songs and electronic effects to alter, emphasise and enhance sound as an integral element of his films.
In the sound design for Eraserhead, Lynch attempts to capture the 'room tones' of the film's location, hallway between a factory and its neighbourhood. This is what Lynch argues is the 'sound that [we] hear when there's silence, in between words or sentences.

Today's soundtrack: Rehab – Amy Winehouse

"Spinning further. deeper // I know you're out to try me
I'm not in this to be a slave // Push the dirt. make me feel
Locate what swallows life // Night bird you build my world
...and then I close my eyes
Drown the monster // Make all bad dreams go away
Whatever it takes to keep your hands free
Open scars // The quiet place // All the bridges fall to the ground
And you say you sacrificed
Everything is in place // So much brighter from today
A king in my own mind"
I worked in an Institution for handicapped people for a while. There were patients with different levels of handicaps working there, going from trisomy 21 to people who were autistic. I always thought it was quite an interesting and disturbing thought to be trapped in your own mind. Don't get me wrong, the job was fun and we I had a great time working with handicapped people, but you can't help feeling sorry for them in same way.
When thinking about the Topic 'A Quiet Place' a Song of one of my favourite Bands came into mind. Looking throught the lyrics I found the above textlines and tried to translate them some way into a picture. I always found the Song had kind of a dark tone to it.
When shooting I had a cinematic look in mind, that I wanted to achieve, making it look like a scene from a horror movie/thriller playing at a mental institution. No bathroom with white tiles was near, so that white wall had to do, but I think the nasty green Fluorescent look really makes the image.
