Sound engineering...not something that I've done professionally but something I've definitely spent many, many hours doing. While this particular board is not one I've ran myself, they all have very similar characteristics and function. Push the right buttons & twist the appropriate knobs and the result is a pleasing, comfortable sound that can be heard uniformly by everyone in attendance. Done incorrectly, some hear & some don't or, even worse, you get noises that pierce your ears called feedback. Not a job to take lightly in a 'live' setting...

This photo was taken in 2013 during my previous Project 365…please visit my album for this β€œREMASTERED” Project 365 as I revisit each day of 2013 for additional photos to share!!

Before the invention of radar a network of sound mirrors were constructed along the South and East coast as part of Britain's early air defence system.

With an extremely sensitive microphone mounted centrally in the parabolic dish, aircraft could be heard well in advance of being sighted.

This new (at the time) technology was made obsolete and was superceded by the invention of radar (also a British discovery).
